Proposal

Subjects:
I am choosing nature for the experimental photography unit so the subjects I will be going to
photograph will be: Humans, Animals, Landscapes, Trees, Plants, Flowers, Treelines etc.

Locations:
The locations I have/going to be using are the Yorkshire wildlife park which is situated just
outside of Doncaster, this wildlife park has lots of nature including animals and plants and I have
recently visited this place and taken lots of photographs for the coursework. Another location I am
going to use is Kirkham, because I am visiting their soon and it has lots of beautiful scenery that
would tie in well with my theme. The third place I am going to use is Stamford bridge where I
live, because it is in the countryside and there is also a lot of nice scenery here that I will be taking
pictures of. I am going to use Stamford as the location I take photographs of the dog in high speed
photography and multiple exposures.

Techniques:
Techniques I will be using in my photography include: multiple exposure I will be taking
photographs of animals and people and within them another exposure of a landscape or close up
of nature, including trees, branches, treelines, beach etc. I have seen other photographers such
as Jerry Uelsmann which has inspired me, within this technique I will be using a lot of
monochrome images as well, because I think the two techniques work together nicely. Another
technique I will be using is Harris Shutter which combines the colours Red, blue and green with
movement and also high speed photography, all 3 techniques can be used together easily because
I could use a multiple exposure of a dog running which would work with the Harris shutter which
works with high speed photography. On Photoshop I can transform photographs so they can be
multiple exposures or have the Harris shutter effect, or can do them on the camera itself with the
settings, both I have access to and will be testing out.
Reasoning:
I am choosing to do nature photography because when I was completing my mind maps and mood
boards I noticed that I had a lot more to talk about when it came to writing about the nature
theme than any other theme. Another reason is that the photographers Jerry Uelsmann and
Christoffer Relanders work inspired me the most out of the others artists and their work involved
nature which gave me a lot of different ideas and techniques I could use together. The locations I
could use and access involve and have a lot of nature, which would make the project easier also.
