Dynamic and state verbs
Dynamic verbs (describing an action) can be used in the progressive form.
State verbs (describing a state) are not usually used in this form.
Some verbs can be both dynamic and state, depending on their meaning.

There are five groups of state verbs:
1. verbs expressing feelings: like, love, hate, enjoy, detest, wish prefer
2. verbs referring to intellectual states. Forget, remember, understand, know, think, believe, doubt
3. verbs about wants: want, need
4. verbs of perception: feel, hear, see, smell, taste
5. verbs of being/having/owning: appear, seem, belong, possess, cost, own

Some verbs that can be both:
Think:
He always thinks hes right (opinion)
He is thinking about changing jobs (considering)
Have:
We have a new car (possession)
She is having a bath (taking; action)
See:
I see what you mean (understand)
Im seeing the doctor tomorrow (meeting; action)

PLURAL AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
Some nouns are always plural in English:
Thanks, clothes, savings, arms, scissors, glasses, trousers
Collective nouns have a singular form but plural meaning and are used with a plural verb form:
