Kenneth:

I was one of the group members in my group which topic was movie review. I am responsible
for searching information. I liked this job very much because I can know the information of the
films first. This project was enjoyable because all of my group members loved watching films
very much. By doing the project, we had more chances to learn about the movies. Each of us
contributed some trials and DVDs for the project. I think that what we contributed the most was
the time. We spent at least 1 month to finish this project!
We did meet some difficulties such as lack of time and the problem of making web site.
However, we overcome them. We worked faster in order to get back the time we spent on
deciding the topic. We asked Mr. Lee how to make web sites and flash. We finally managed to
finish this project at last.
By doing this project, I learnt the skills of collecting information and the way to make a web site.
They were all very useful.
I got along with my group members well. We met in the library once a cycle to discuss about the
project. So, we could know about how much things we needed to do and we could co-operate
well.
In my opinion, the overall performance of my group was very good. We co-operated well and
overcome many difficulties. I think that I should improve my time-management next time
because we didnt have much time to do this project.
If 5 stars were the full mark, I would give myself 4 stars. Thats because I did do my job well and
seldom argued with my group members. However, I spent too much time to decide the topic so I
couldnt get the perfect mark.

Jaun:
In this project based learning, I am the group leader. I divided the work to me and my other
group members. The experience of doing this project was enjoyable. Because when we were
doing the project and making the video, we can watch the movie too. So it was not boring.
Among all the work I did, I liked finding trailers most. Because I could see the trailer and they
were exciting like watching movies. In this project, my contribution was gathered the information
from my group members and made the written report and the dreamweaver.
During this project based learning, our difficulties were the time limit and the making of
presentation. We spent too much time on deciding our topic and we didnt know much about the
presentation like flash and dreamweaver. Finally we overcame them by rushing during the
Easter holiday and asked our tutor, Mr. Lee, for giving us some examples of flash and
dreamweaver. After doing this project, I learnt more about dreamweaver and how to cooperate
with my group members. I also learnt the skills of organizing my ideas. I could cooperate with
my group members. We voted for our favourite title so no one disagreed about the title. I divided
the work equally so that no one complained about the division of work.
In my opinion, our overall performance is quite successful. Although we spent much time
for discussing the title, we didnt have argument during our discussion. In the next project, I think
I should improve the decision of title. I should decide the title quicker. If 5 stars were the full
mark, I would give 4 stars to myself. Because I think I did my job well and I could complete my
work. But I could improve more in the future.

Chester:
In this project, I have learned a lot of things about Warner Bros. and let me know more
about my group members. Although we have a lot of problems in it, we can solve it easily
because if we found that our group have more than one propose we think that polling is the best
way to solve these problems and we have invited about 70 people and they are quite often to
watch movie in a week. I enjoy doing this project very much and I hope that I can do it in next
year.

Conclusion

I think that this project was very successful. All of my group members co-operated well.
However, I think that we didnt have enough YSP lessons. There should be 2 lessons per cycle.
During the lessons, we should have a chance to use computer. Another thing was that we
should have more freedom in choosing topics. Moreover, there should be more students in a
group. We should have freedom in forming our own group, too.
In this project, we had learned a lot of things like how to solve the problems about fining data, to
get along with our group members. We have learned many things about Warner Bros. Movie.
We have invited about 70 people and they are quite often to watch movie. It shows that people
in Hong Kong like to watch movie very much.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

I am extremely late in the submission of my second reflection as well as the commenting of my
peers, but as the saying goes, better late than never. Throughout the whole week I have been
swamped with other project commitments from various other subjects, as well as countless
personal commitments and appointments that has made this week a very harrowing experience
for me. Though I will have to relinquish valuable marks in the process of submitting this piece, I
fully accept the punishment as befits the crime, and can only hope and pray, and maybe in due
process appeal with valid reasons as to my late submission of work, which I will definitely in the
near future be consulting my tutor regarding on the subject matter.

Time, or the lack of it.

Time and tide wait for no man. How very simple yet true this proverb, yet quite many fail to
glean from it the valuable teachings of proper time management in their daily lifestyle. In this
matter I volunteer myself as a prime case study of poor time management and thus missed
datelines for assignments, especially one as simple as this. Though my reasons are
complicated and varied, in the end I have to concede that the fault lies entirely with myself, and I
have no one else to blame but me. Bringing this concept of time management back towards our
2103T project, I received a sudden epiphany about the sheer magnitude and scope of our
project, and as the Lead Coder of my team find it a very daunting task to be able to lead my
team to effectively finish the project within the expected timelines as outlined by our Project
Proposal. Faith in myself has been steadily faltering; but for the sake of my teammates I must
move on and will myself forward. The fault neither lies within my capabilities of knowing the
coding, nor how to implement the various structures of code into a workable software; These
experiences are a plenty within me from my time doing work in various leading industrial
companies. Rather my decline can be attributed to the fact that I simply find the compiling of
various work from different people with their own personal styles too overwhelming taken in all
at once, and my psyche craves release from the minefield of tediousness that I know is about to
come from the various work being stitched together to form a haphazard jigsaw of a program:
definitely working, but at too grave a cost in terms of time management.

Those that dont plan, plan to fail.

From the very start, I foresaw the great difficulty of managing the expanse of data of our 2103T
project that will definitely be generated by my team, so to circumcise this problem I followed my
simple mantra: Plan. Re-plan. Then plan again. Little did I know how challenging the task of
planning would turn out to be, very akin to trying to stop the tide in its unending cycle of lapping
at the shore. However meticulous or well thought out I thought my plan would be, I simply could
not account for the infinite myriad of ways that the program could go wrong, which it inevitably
did at various points of my plan. For example, the simple task of passing data from one area of
coding to the another area (each area is governed by a member, the whole project is separated
evenly into four parts) of the team gets magnified four-fold, simply because the needs of every
member must be met when data is passed. Though I had tried my very best to plan, Murphys
Law of probability (things that can go wrong, will go wrong at the most critical moment) had won
out against me and had stumped my progress in trying to complete the project. Still, it is my job
to lead my team with the coding plans as the lead coder, and do so I shall with the very best of
my abilities.

Recommendations for a smoother ride.

Simply put, in the near future I will consult my personal counselors as well as my teammates as
to the handling and proper management of my time as well as working closely with them to
remove any mental roadblocks I may have towards the completion of this project. At times, I find
myself very highly motivated to finish a job and do so with flying colors while at other times I find
myself blocked and worried mentally about my work, to the point of freezing up and not being
able to do anything at all. I feel that I may need some encouragement from my peers as well as
my counselors and will talk with my team into providing the right atmosphere for one another. In
this subject of study, completing a project isnt only about delivering the final product, it is the
process towards the final product that counts, as well as to the countless interactions of the
teammates towards one another that is being looked into and developed.
