TheIBMFlexSystemEnterpriseChassisisasimple,integratedinfrastructureplatformthatsupportsa

solutioniseasilyscalablewiththeadditionofanotherchassiswiththerequirednodes.WiththeIBMFlex
SystemManager,multiplechassiscanbemonitoredfromasinglescreen.The14node,10Uchassis
delivershigh-speedperformancecompletewithintegratedservers,storage,andnetworking.Thisflexible
chassisisdesignedforasimpledeploymentnowandtoscaletomeetyourneedsinthefuture.
Flexibilityandefficiency
The14baysinthechassisallowtheinstallationofcomputeormanagementnodes,withnetworking
modulesintherear.Asinglechassisoragroupofchassiscanbefullycustomizedtothespecificneeds
ofthecomputingenvironment.WithsupportforPOWER7®andIntelprocessor-basednodes,youcan
choosethearchitectureyouneed.ITcanmeettheneedsofthebusinessusingasinglesystemacross
multiplearchitecturesandoperatingenvironments.
Thesystemmonitorsandmanagespowerusageonallmajorchassiscomponentssoyouhavetotal
controloverpowerconsumption.ThechassissupportsN+NorN+1redundantpowersupplies,
configurableineitherasingleorthree-phasepowerdomainandanentirelypassivemid-planetomeet
yourreliabilityneeds.Thepowersuppliesare80PLUSPlatinum-certifiedindicatinghighenergy
efficiency.Thechassisdesignalsooptimizescoolingwithcoolingzoneswithinthechassis.Thesystem
managesthefanmodulesbasedonnodeconfigurationwithinthechassis.So,thesystemcanincrease
thespeedofcertainfanmodulestocoolpotentialhotspots,anduselowerspeedsforotherfanmodules
whereappropriate.

managementinterfaces,theCMM,andtheIBMFlexSystemManager(FSM)managementappliance.
