I.

Introduction
The competencies identifed for the school heads are classifed into seven domains for school leadership and management which are:
II. Accomplishing the Profle
A. The profle sheet is working with the macros which need to be enabled for some of the drop-down menus to function. The
moment this tool is opened a message may appear asking the user to enable these macros if found disabled. In case the drop-down

III. Accomplishing the Self-Assessment Sheet
&ead the instructions at the beginning of the '"elf Assessment' sheet. Automatic scoring will proceed only if this sheet is
properly accomplished. In each item$ one()* bo+ must be ticked. The background turns blue if correctly ticked$ otherwise
becomes orange.
At the end of the worksheet an error handler is provided to guide the user in locating errors. If the assessment is correctly accomplished

The!,B""--T!A tool is necessary to determine the school head.s needs for training and development vis-/-vis the seven
domains of competencies for an e0ective school leader. It is a self-assessment mechanism done by re1ecting on past and current
practices as a "chool -ead. There could be di0ering possibilities in which the school head sees a need for professional development
through this tool.
It is basically a self-appraisal tool accomplished by the "chool -eads themselves. The "chool -eads are asked to complete a self
-assessment instrument where they identify the behaviors they have consistently demonstrated in their role as a school head across
the seven domains.
Domain 1: School Leadership
20ective leadership is the core of every successful school. This domain emphasi3es that e0ective school leaders collaborately
create a vision and establish a climate for teachers$ non-teaching personnel and learners to reach their highest level of achievement.
Domain 2: Instructional Leadership
2ducation reforms have created an urgent need for strong emphasis on the development of instructional leadership skills. This
domain covers those actions in instructional leadership (e.g. assessment for learning$ development and implementation$ instructional
supervision and technical assistance that school heads take or delegate to others to promote good teaching and high level learning
among pupils%students.
Domain 3: Creating a Student-Centered Learning Climate
The domain re#uires that e0ective school leaders set high standards and create high e+pectations for learners at the same time
recogni3ing their achievement.
Domain 4: HR Management and ro!essional De"elopment
20ective school leaders develop the skills and talents of those around them. This domain includes the nurturing and supporting of a
learning community that recruits teachers based on !,BT" and promotes the continuous growth and development of personnel based
on I44 and "44.
Domain #: arent In"ol"ement and Communit$ artnership
20ective school heads engage in shared decision making with the community in achieving universal participation$ completion and
functional literacy. This domain covers parent and other stakeholders. involvement to raise learners. performance.

This domain covers the critical role school heads play in managing the implementation and monitoring of their schools. improvement
