Matlab Simulation Novel Method for Optimal Photovoltaic Array Reconfiguration

(Used example in the paper: A Dynamic Electrical Scheme for the optimal reconfiguration of PV
modules under non-homogeneous solar irradiation)

Figure 6 Maximum power a) without irradiance equalization; b) with equalization 3x3;
c) with equalization DES.

A second test has been carried out to underline the ability oI the DES to implement the best
conIiguration in terms oI output power with the smallest number oI modules switchings.
In this case, it was supposed the same non homogeneous irradiance condition showed in |17|; Iigure
7a shows the static conIiguration; Iigure 7b shows the output conIiguration proposed in |17|; while
Iigure 7c shows the conIiguration outputted by the DES. Starting Irom the comparison with the
optimal conIiguration obtained in |17|, it can be deduced that in order to equalize the irradiance, in
our case it was enough to carry out only one switching uncoupling module 7 Irom the third row and
putting it in the Iirst rows as shown in Iigure 7, whereas in |17| it was necessary to transIer the
module 2 in the third row and the module 9 in the Iirst row through two switchings.
