After a long struggle, Pos-Pelkes (Ministry and Witness Committee branch) of Solafide Church
at Selat Panjang, as branch of Ekklesia Church of GPIB (Protestant Church in Western Part
Indonesia) at Dumai, Riau Province, Indonesia region, finally entered a new phase to prepare for
new land acquisition opportunities to build new church to replace the church building before
where worship activities have been banned by the people around.
With the grace of dear Holy Father, Praise be to Lord God for His love and gift of land acquisition
fund-raising committee of the church congregation has been established through a letter of
assignment # 098/MJ-ED/IX/2014/ST (as attachment II).
Fundraising committee welcomed with joy the assignment, and following up on the letter task,
with humility fundraising committee would beg our contributors are pleased to assist and
support the implementation of the land acquisition program to realize the construction of the
house of God in Pos Pelkes Solafide Selat Panjang. Any donations will be very helpful for the sake
of honor and glory of the Holy Father.
As the Word of God which is written in the book of 1 Chronicles 29: 17a: I know also, my God,
that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine
heart I have willingly offered all these things, We have trust and believe that our contributors
are the channel of God's blessings for this program, and we are pleading for help to reach out in
the unity of faith by giving donations through the committee's bank account as follows:

I. INTRODUCTION

The Church is a chamber for God's people to worship. Church in this regard as the center of the
preaching of God and the Sacraments, must be able to develop, build, and maintain the faith of
the church holistically and be a chamber for socializing among fellow beings in the context of the
call to fellowship, serve, witness and nurture each other.
After a long struggle, Solafide Church at Selat Panjang (Riau Province, Indonesia region) as Pos-
Pelkes (Ministry and Witness Committee; in terms of GPIB church, it is as ministry branch of
parent church) of Ekklesia Church of GPIB as the parent church (Gereja Protestant di Indonesia
bagian Barat = Protestant Church in West Indonesia) at Dumai, Riau Province, Indonesia region,
finally entered a new phase to prepare for new land acquisition opportunities to build new church
to replace the church building before where worship activities have been banned by the people
around. Leads to such things, then it would need to be provided a piece of land to build a place
of worship where surrounding communities will support, in this case in order to create a viable
church ministry and witness the whole in the middle of his congregation communion with the
community, so that God's name be glorified.
Therefore, GPIB "Ekklesia" Dumai intends to conduct fundraising efforts in an attempt to buy a
plot of land for the construction of the Church GPIB Pos Pelkes "Solafide" in the Selat Panjang as
a forum for residents to be able to worship congregation.

II. BACK GROUND

Pos Pelkes GPIB "Solafide" is in Selat
Panjang Island, part of the Meranti
Islands Regency.
In the midst of diversity ethnic in the
city of Selat Panjang on March 16,
2003 the Church of God was founded
in this city, named "Solafide church"
of GPIB. Originally the Church was
founded in Pembangunan Straits, but
not long after, immediately moved
into the family home of Mr. C.
Pangaribuan (which only lasts for 1
year).
Originally, Solafide church serving as
Ministry and Witness Committee
branch of Parent Church GPIB "Ora Et
Labora" Meral MUPEL Karimun in
Riau Islands region, but according to
the views of the service and its development into the future by the Synod Council, it transferred
and included in the territory of parent Church GPIB "Maranatha" at Sungai Pakning region.

Later in 2010, the church is transferred and included in the territory of parent Church GPIB
Ekklesia Dumai and the number of heads of household at that time were 14 families.
Over time, the congregation grew
so at the moment along with the
Church Presbyter (church officer)
took the initiative to prepare a
house of worship that is more
feasible and they bought house of
Mr. Situmeang to be a place of
worship (church). And in 2008
started the implementation of the
construction of the church
building renovation.
At First, the construction running
smoothly, but in the middle of the
development activity arises
contention problems from
surrounding communities even to
the demo of community activity
on the grounds that the building is
being renovated without IMB
(Government Permit to built a
building). Finally, a letter from the district head down to the effect, that the members of the
Church GPIB Pos Pelkes "Solafide" Selat Panjang temporarily not allowed to continue
construction of the renovation of the Church. This makes the congregation finally took the
initiative to worship from house to house of church members.
Late in 2009, the congregation tried to return to the Church church building to celebrate
Christmas and New Year through to the sub-district permit, but in fact the members of the Church
still not given permission demonstrating respect for the people back at the office of Regent.
Finally, through dialogue, the Church was invited by the Regents to discuss the matter and have
reached an agreement that is positive, that the congregation may use the house of worship
(church building) until the completion of the New Year. But the reality on the ground, people are
still on their stance to not allow members of the Church GPIB Pos Pelkes "Solafide" to worship at
the church building.
Continue to struggle with the problems that exist in the Prayer, God showed His power once
through His people, Mr. Sibarani as presbyter Church GPIB "Bukit Zaitun" from Duri Region, and
Mr. Akiong, members of the Chatolic Church "Kalam Kudus" along with some of the congregation
GPIB "Solafide" Mr. Napitupulu, Mrs. Eva, and Mr. Silaban, and outreach can finally rent a house
in Chinatown Village in Teratai Street for 2 years, up to today, and will expire in May 2015.
Land on which the houses were rented in the end offered for sale to the church GPIB Pos Pelkes
"Solafide" as an opportunity to be able to build a church. And review that the environment in
which the land is located within the Chinatown community that is expected to assist in the
establishment of the Church of the licensing terms, the Church GPIB Pos Pelkes "Solafide" finally

that is now not allowed to used

decided and plans to buy the land which is planned to be used for the construction of the Church
of the future.

III. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

With the efforts to purchase land in the Pos Pelkes Selat Panjang, expected to be built a place of
worship (Church) that is worthy and provide a sense of security and comfort for GPIB Pos Pelkes
"Solafide" Selat Panjang to worship.
Therefore, we humbly beg the help of our donaturs to lend a hand in the unity of faith in an effort
to ease the burden of tackling the cost of purchasing land in the Pos Pelkes Selat Panjang.

VII. CLOSING

ATTACHMENT III. Testimony About The Church Building (Temporary Church from rent house)

On 20 July 2012, after approximately 1 month
rented house in Jalan Belanak - Village West
Selatpanjang Meranti Islands Regency, which is
used as a temporary church of church Solafide GPIB
long strait. A major fire in the neighborhood of the
rented house.
The fire occurred at around 9:45 pm. Due to the
strong winds at the scene led to the overwhelmed
firefighters fight the flames, but thanks to the help
of the local community by using a pump machine
owned by residents, the fire finally was
extinguished at approximately 10:45 pm.
Fires do not take casualties. However, 12 units of
which 3 houses razed to the ground warehouse.
Severe fires also burned property of citizens, which
until now has not been calculated DAPT definitely a
total loss. However, estimated up to 2 billion more
... and thank God ... the twelfth house is on the left
and right of the building rented house ... and the
rental house does not burn at all ... as if to jump
over the fire and was not allowed to touch the
building of the house into the church while the
congregation GPIB Solafide Long Strait.
