The Miri Jazz Festival 2008 brings together
different styles & exotic versions of jazz bands
from Europe & Africa in the seaside of Resort City
of Miri.
Two days of great jazz, funky, latin, oriental jazz,
carribean roots, blues, boogie woogies... all in
the intimacy of the Pavillion set against the
backdrop of a tropical seaside & the distant
calls of the mighty rainforest.
The event will be held from 9-10 May 2008.

ITINERARY
Day 1 (9 May) Friday
Meet and greet upon arrival at Miri
International Airport. Transfer to Hotel.
Transfer to the Pavillion at ParkCity Everly
Hotel to participate in the Jazz Festival.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 2 (10 May) Saturday
Breakfast at the hotel. Day free to relax
or discover the town on your own. In the
evening, transfer to the Pavillion at
ParkCity Everly Hotel to participate in
the Jazz Festival. Return to the hotel at
the end of the show. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 (11 May) Sunday
Explore Miri as well as its outlying areas
on your own. Optional tours available.
Transfer to airport for onward flight.

Charmaine Clamor [from
Philippines]
SCHEDULE
Charmaine Clamor is the first Filipina
jazz singer to find success on American
radio with her debut album entitled
"Searching for the Soul" released in
2005.
Diamond Dave and the
Doodaddies [from Australia]
Coming from Perth, Australia, Diamond
Dave and the Doodaddies play Chicago
style blues jazz music with uplifting
grooves, swinging shuffles and soulful
beat.
With two albums to their credit, this four-
piece band has also performed in a
number of highly commendable live
shows in and around Perth.
Habana Sax [from Cuba]
Rumba Calzada [from Canada]
Be ready to salsa to the upbeat jazz
tempo of Rumba Calzada. This
Vancouver-based band will be playing,
mostly original, jazz music with beats of
Latin, Salsa and Afro-Cuban.
Currently led by Raphael Geronimo from
the Philippines, this seven-piece band
was formed in 1991 by Raphael's father
Boying.

With her powerful and sultry vocal, it is
not surprising that Clamor is often
compared to the best jazz performers
like Sarah Vaughan, Anita Baker and
Cassandra Wilson.
Coming from a musically talented family,
Clamor began singing at the tender age
of three. Back then, her "stage" was the
bus which she took from her hometown
of Subic-Zambales to Manila. Her
experience entertaining the bus
passengers had moulded her into
becoming an accomplished singer.
With two albums under her belt, the
latest was released last year, Clamor is
set to woo the crowd in Miri with her
warm, luscious and sultry alto voice.
T'INVENTIELKE [from Holland] *
This 16-piece band is a jazz street band
from Holland. Formed by a group of
friends who are passionate about music,
the band play original, modern, pop-
classic and alternative jazz beat. Their
performances also include well
choreographed dance movement to
liven up the festival mood.
