The Power of the Higher Being
(Reflection Paper to Film #1)
The film was about how human transform from a single cell into a well-functioning baby.
It is our bodies nature to make babies. The urge to procreate is a part of life for all beings. From
millions of sperm cell uniting with an egg cell a baby can be produce. Each person carries 100
trillion cells in his body with a unique genetic package. DNA molecules carrying genes make
copies of itself.
How can a person produce many different combinations of genes? How does a blood cell
transform itself into different tissues and organs and into a fully functional baby?
The answers to these questions were clearly explained and discussed in the film I had
watched. The photographs and videos used in the film were quite fine. And those are definitely
in relation with the topic being discussed. But I think, the first part of the film where there are
adults walking down the beach and busy in tanning their skin is not appropriate with the theme. I
suppose, there is a more effective and more appropriate way to show the adults urge to procreate
is a natural cycle in life, not just in human but also with animals.
The style of how the film was shown is exactly in relation with the theme of the piece.
Photographs and videos have been effective in showing how a human was formed from a single
cell. Photographs are amazing, it was like taken in a real human body system. Surprisingly, the
film had met more than my expectation. All the elements such as the narration, photographs and
how the story was written, it all worked in harmony.
The film made me look closer into the room where a miracle takes place and into the
essence of life itself. I was able to see how the lifes greatest miracle happens and that our
bodies allow us to do and perform remarkable things. I believe that the film is effective. After
watching it, I knew things I didnt learned before. I wasnt just able to realize that life is a
miracle. It also made me realize how divine and supremely keen the Higher Being is.
Life is the greatest miracle and the loveliest and most sacred gift we had received from
God. Being able to have the privilege to receive lifes greatest gift and to witness others receive
such gift too, I must say that I am blessed. Yes, things can be precisely explain by science. But I
definitely believe that only an ultimately powerful and extremely brilliant can create such being
that inhibits 100 trillion of cells and different genes and He is our Almighty Father, our creator.
