InordertoreceivecreditfortheGraduationProjectas
partoftheEnglishIVgrade,studentsmustcompleteall
threerequiredcomponents(product,presentation,and
portfolio)andhavedemonstratedthattheycompleted
therequiredresearchpaper.Theproduct,presentation,
andportfoliowillcountas20%pfthesecondquarter
gradein18weekEnglishIVcoursesand40%ofthe
fourthquartergradein36weekEnglishIVcourses.
Thestudentsoverallprojectscorewillbecalculatedby
addingthescoresfortheproduct,presentation,and
portfolio.Forexample,ifastudentearnsascoreof2
onthepresentation,ascoreof3ontheproduct,anda
scoreof3ontheportfolio,thenthefinalcomposite
scorewouldbecalculatedasfollows:
2+3+3=8
Thefollowingconversiontablewillbeusedtoconvert
thestudentsoverallscoretoanumericalequivalent
thatcanbeaveragedintothestudentsgrade(see
above)ona100pointscale.

Thestudentmusthaveacompletedmentor

enhancedhisorheroverallproject,containedinthe
portfolio.

InNCWise,theGraduationProjectwillberecordedas20%ofthe2
nd
quartergradeina
semester(18week)courseandas40%ofthe4
th
quartergradeinyearlong(36week)course.
Thefinalcalculationisequaltotheaboveamount.TeachersmustcreateanewPrepCategory
titledGraduationProjectuponsettinguptheirgradebookwiththeweightcalculatedas
either20%or40%basedonthecourselength.
