Tools: Purple #1040 2 in 1 Combo Cows Trimmer, #3020
Robin’s Precision Tipped Scissors,
Stash Paper Piercer, Crop-A-Dile Instructions: Supplies: For the placemats: Cosmo Jolly by Golly Crafting Kit 1. Turn on your #3020 Laminator to warm up while you choose your placemat papers. 2. Select which papers you would like to use as your center piece for your placemat. I Cricket chose 4 papers, (2 Dotted Swiss - Phoenix, & Deep Sea, 1 Grasscloth - Mexican Glue Arts Glue Rings, GGP-High Tac Poppy, and 1 Jolly By Golly - Sweater Weather). Using the #2810 Colonial Cut Deco- Clears- ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink rative-edged Blade and your 2 in 1 Combo Trimmer, cut an edge on either side (making it the top and bottom edge), so your paper measures 10 1/2 by 12 inches exactly. Ink the edges with a coordinating Colorbox ink (I used Warm Red, Aquama- Bazzill Cardstock rine, & Yellow Citrus). Basics 3. Now choose a coordinating piece of paper to place on either side of your center pa- Robin’s Thickers, Craft Wire, Beads per. The Jolly By Golly Border paper is PERFECT for this! Cut a border you like, and trim the edges, using the 2810 Colonial Cut blade so the piece measures 10 1/2 Stash inches on the long side. 4. The width will be determined by whichever border you choose. (Don't worry,we will Purple Cows, Inc make up the difference by changing the measurement of your other side piece!) 3210 North Canyon Road, Suite 307 5. Select a second side piece, using the coordinating Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly pa- Provo, Utah 84604 pers. Your total placement needs to measure 16 1/2 inches long. Trim this piece to 877-386-8264 make sure when all 3 pieces are placed side by side, the total is 16 1/2 inches. Each should already be trimmed to be 10 1/2 inches high). (For mine, I used: Breezy Freezy, Smitten Mit- ten, & Silly Chilly). 6. Note: When you place all these pieces side by side, be sure to look at both sides. Once you laminate these together, your placemats will be reversible, so you'll want both sides to coor- dinate. Using the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly papers, makes this easy-as-pie!) YUM! 7. Place the 3 pieces for each mat, inside a 11x17 hot pocket, making sure the edges meet. Run the pocket through the laminator, and voila! You have a reversible placemat! 8. For the placecards: 9. From the Jolly By Golly Elements page, select the 'element' you want to use as a name card. Trim this using the fine point scissors, and ink the edges with the Coordinating Colorbox ink. Mount this onto a coordinating piece of Bazzill Cardstock (I used Avalanche). I cut the card- stock 1/2" wider than the 'element', and twice as long (so it can be folded to stand on it's own on the table). Use the 2811 scoring blade, for a perfect fold line! 10.Choose a coordinating sticker from the Crafting Kit sticker sheet to embellish your name card. 11.For the napking ring holders: 12.Choose your favorite Jolly By Golly patterned paper, and trim 3 pieces 1/2" by 12". (I used Smitten Mitten). Using the Glue Arts Glue Rings, adhere these end to end, so you have a long piece that measure about 35 inches. Ink the edges (I used Warm Red). 13.Using your 2 in 1 smart trimmer, and the 2811 Scoring Blade, score lines along the whole of Purple Cows, Inc 2 3210 North Canyon Road, Suite 307 Provo, Utah 84604 Robin Gibson, North Carolina 877-386-8264 http://ohscrapblogspot.com this piece, in this order. 1", 1", 1 1/2", 1 1/2", and repeat for the whole length). When done, fold along the score lines, and you will have accordian-folded your whole piece, that will resemble a starburst when fanned out. 14.Using your Crop-a-dile (or Paper Piercer), punch a hole in each fold all along the bottom 'edge' of your accordian-folded pa- per. You will run craft wire through this to make a holder. 15.Now, alternating the beads, thread a 3 1/2" piece of craft wire through 2 holes (the valley), place a bead, thread through 2 more holes (the mountain), and place another bead. Repeat this pattern for the length of the folded starburst. 16.When you've threaded the whole piece through, secure the craft wire ends, by wrapping tightly around each other. You can shape your napkin-holder, so the bottom edge is along the table, and the starburst shape sits atop. Slide your napkin through the middle. 17.Make sure you take a picture of how pretty your Holiday Table looks with your handmade place settings! ENJOY!
