The Mining Industry has many uses for overhead cranes and hoists:
Handling of mining process equipment for coal wash plants.
Handling of mining process equipment for metalliferous process plants .
Handling of machinery inside Draglines & Bucket shovels.
Handling of material in maintenance workshops in mines.
Cranes, which are used in the maintenance of mining equipment, are an essential part in
the supply chain of mining sites. Due to the extreme environment and working conditions,
these cranes need regular preventive and corrective maintenance. During a shut-down
when a mine undergoes maintenance, unforeseen problems with the cranes in operation
can result in cessation of work, resulting in exorbitant down-time costs of up to
S$100,000 per hour.
With MHE-Demag, we maintain a close working partnership with the mine owners to
ensure that the cranes we service meet all the working specifications and are available at
all times when required. In the medium term, the cranes also need to be upgraded or
refurbished in order to extend their working capacity, improve efficiency and increase
operating life.
