Presentation
The wording of the general principles of design was carefully analyzed
and structured in a way that can be used to build any particular theory or
design-related specif ic. This paper is a small part of the book General
Theory of Design and Cienciografa manual which is available in
www.cienciografa.com.
The statement of the General principles of the design is a work that
is part of the Education Plan of the graphics science which promotes
Eder Noriega and is supported by the Bits Foundation.

All activity and professional
discipline need theory and is
precisely the General design
theory which gives rise to the
Declaration of the General
Principles of Design.
Introduction
5
The statements of general principles of design
are based on many concepts and def initions
provided by entities that promote the work of
design and its global standardization such as
the following:
1) International Council of Societies of
Industrial Design (International Societies
Council of Industrial Design - ICSID).
2) International Council of Graphic Design
Associations (Icograda).
3) The world body for graphic design and
vi sual communi cat i on I nt er nat i onal
Organization for Standardization (ISO).
4) International Association of Photographers.
5) International Federation Film Producers
Associations (Fdration Internationale des
Associations de Producteurs de Films - FIAPF).
6) International Ergonomics Association (IEA)
7) International Union of Architects (Union
Internationale des Architectes - UIA).
The wording of the universal principles
of design was carefully analyzed and
structured in a way that can be used to build
any particular theory or design-related
specif ic. This paper is a small part of the book
General Theory of Design and Cienciografa
ma n u a l w h i c h i s a v a i l a b l e i n
www.cienciografa.com. It is supported by the
Bits Foundation and intellectual property is
protected in the National Copyright Off ice,
Republic of Colombia. The following paper is
the fruit of over twenty years of experience in
the f ield of digital visual communication by
this humble designer.
Creativity principle 1
All designs, by principle, are creative acts with a touch of inspiration.
6
Principle of objective and subjective concept 2
All design implies a subjective and objective conceptual idea. The goal
of design concepts are easily noticed by the form and its matter and is
identified because it is the common view that everyone perceives, but
the concept is not subjective; is unique and is always interpreted in
different ways.
7
The communicative principle 3
Every design principle communicates something.

8
Principle of interactivity 4
Every design by principle communicates something; human
communication is interactive. The design principle is interactive,
allowing the senses to perceive things and interact with each other.
9
Principle of good planning 5
All design, by principle needs to be well planned and spend at least one
stage of analysis, creation, implementation, evaluation and control.
10
Principle of adaptation 6
The design is adapted permanently in any space and time. The law of
dynamism and adaptation of forms requires that the designs must be
tailored to particular cases and universal cases. The particular designs
are made with the purpose of solving a particular problem; universal
designs are made to solve problems that suit everyone, regardless of
their abilities and skills.
11
Functionality principle 7
All design by principle is functional, meets our needs, solves a problem
and improves systems.
12
Principle of color 8
Every design principle has color because light is color.
13
Template principle 9
All design by having the form generates a "model or guide template",
but this template is always contained within an area or any space; the
template is contained in our environment. A template can be a model,
architectural model or an object taken as an example. In addition a
format is also a space, an area, or a region with standardized measures;
for example, a paper template.
Principle of the composition,
organization and aesthetics.
10
All design, by principle, is organized, aesthetic and configured as a
composition. Organizing is arranging but aesthetics and composition
achieve the beauty and expressiveness that the order itself is not
enough. The principle of composition achieves expressive design that
is persuasive, consistent, balanced and rhythmic.
15
Orientation principle 11
Every design principle has a spatial location that enables sense of
direction.
Text
16
Perception principle 12
Every design by principle is perceptive.
17
Measurement principle
and proportionality
13
Any design by principle has a size, is measurable proportional and
responsive to the available space, a template and all its surroundings.
18
Relevance principle 14
All designs have relevant elements that will give them a particular
shape; they also have elements that make it up but in turn the design
can also be relevant to other designs around you.
ABC
19
Uncertainty principle 15
By principle, all human design is not perfect and there will always be an
uncertainty point indicating that the design is not finished; perhaps
something is missing, wrong, or maybe you will never know what
happened. The uncertainty principle of the design is what motivates us
to continue investigating discovering and innovating every day. If this
principle did not exist then the design would be inactive, because there
would be no design to discover.

Noriega
Eder Noriega Torres was born in the municipality of La Paz (Cesar) Colombia, November 1, 1970. Is
publicist, graphic designer and digital artist of the 3D, photographer, Infographic Designer,
developer of graphical interfaces for websites, video games and software. It is comuniclogo,
researcher, writer and lecturer. One of his well-known works at the international level is "The spoken
and sung vocal technique", a technical work aimed at beginners and professionals who work with
the voice. He is the author of several well-known brands in Colombia.
He discovered the Cienciografia as the scientific discipline of graphic Sciences. Among his works are:
theory of the forms which explains in detail the universal laws of forms and everything to do with
this world. Cienciografia manual, graphic science. Statement of the General principles of design.
Theory of graphic communication. He discovered the law of affinity graphics and that led him to
establish the affinity graphics or afingrafia of the Spanish alphabet. Finally the work of the afingrafia
of the Spanish alphabet gave rise to the strengthening of the traditional method of teaching literacy
with the program called Tico, especially for primary basic education. Tico is a comprehensive
educational program of literacy which promotes in Colombia its foundation and more specifically in
the departments of Cesar and la Guajira.
It has more than 20 years of experience in the graphic field. Worked for a while with advertising
agencies and newspapers from the northern coast of Colombia, but finally his heart told you that
had become independent and work as an independent entrepreneur. He has worked as a self-
taught in the field of chemistry and in which it has managed to develop some formulas of great
importance for the medical industry and cosmetics, including the discovery of a drug to eradicate
the fungus for Onychomycosis affecting fingernails, the formulation of a natural extract to control
the abnormal hair loss, a chemical biological liquid formulation to effectively control the scourge of
termites.
The duality of these two knowledge, design and chemistry, led him to create the Bits Foundation in
the year 2012, a NGO of social character that promotes science and technology in Colombia. He is
currently the Chairman and legal representative. Bits Foundation grows every day and extends their
knowledge via the internet at the national and international level. One of his projects pillars is called
www.aulabits.com, a lecture on education aimed at teachers and students from the basic primary
and secondary.
