Cockpit safety inspection

-Open doors

-Calculate fuel and load it

-File flight plan

-Do the ‘cokpit safety inspection’ checklist

Power up

-Battery 1 and 2

ON/AUTO

-Connect Ground Power

CONNECT

-Nav. Lights

ON

-Check overhead panel (on, except Hyd 3A pump) CKD

-Do the ‘Power up’ checklist

Pre Flight

-Check thrust levers

CKD

-Check parking brake

CKD

-Check flight instruments

CKD

-Do the ‘pre flight’ checklist

Before checks

-Program the CDU completely

-Briefings

-Signs checked

-Overhead panel checked

-Ask for IFR clearance and set the squawk

-Start APU

-Ask for startup clearance

-Check Ground pwer off, before push!!!

-Request pushback

-Do the ‘before start’ checklist

After start

-Check engines running normally

-Prepare the aircraft for takeoff: Check trim, flaps and Vspeeds on PFD

-If not done yet: prepare the autopilot: select FMS as navigation source, set altitude, rwy heading and speeds.

-Do the ‘after start’ checklist

-Ask for taxi and check taxi lights ON

-Check ground crew before taxi

Before takeoff

-Check takeoff configuration (“take off OK” or “no takeoff [reason]”)

-Check brakes + autobreak (final check)

-Warn the cabin

-Solve possible EICAS problems (check it)

-Transponder: TA/RA

-Do the ‘before takeoff’ checklist

-Taxi Lights OFF

-Landing lights ON

-Get takeoff clearance (if not already)

After takeoff

-Check EICAS

-Gear UP, flaps UP (zero)

-Do the ‘After Takeoff’ checklist when ready

-TA: QNH1013

-Speed 250 knots until 10.000ft!

-Switch OFF landing lights BEFORE 10.000ft

-Switch seatbelt sign OFF (take conditions into account!)

Cruise

-Check fuel consumption

-Monitor EICAS

-Check weather radar

-Check system status

Descend (FLcruise – FL150)

-Program CDU

-Landing rwy and procedure in CDU to!

-Autobreak (at captains discretion)

-Landing briefing (go arounds etc.)

-Warn cabin (cabin crew, prepare for landing)

-Seatbelt sign ON!

-Do the ‘descend’ checklist

Approach (FL150 – FL100) & (FL100 – final app)

-Speed 250 knots

-Passengers: seated

-Program ILS frequencies and courses (both PFD’s to crs and both nav radios to ILS freq!!!)

-Do the ‘approach’ checklist

-Landing lights ON when passing 9000!

-Final turn: speed 200-180 , flaps 1-2, review go around procedure!

Landing

-Localiser alive: flaps 4 and speed 180 or below

-Glide slope capture: flaps full, gear down, speed to Vap and warn the cabin (cabin crew, please be seated for landing)

-Do the ‘before landing’ checklist

After landing

-Flaps up

-Check A/P and A/T OFF!

-Landing lights OFF taxi lights ON

-Get taxi clearance

-Autobreak OFF

-Spoilers down

-Start APU when reaching gate
