The 2009 PSIC was patterned after the United Nation's International Standard Classification (ISIC) Revision 4 (officially released by the UN Statistics Division on August 11, 2008 for adoption by countries) . To align the existing PSIC (1994)
with the ISIC Rev. 4, major changes were adopted and incorporated in the 2009 PSIC but with some modifications to reflect national situation and requirements. It was approved for adoption by government agencies and
instrumentalities through NSCB Resolution No. 2 Series of 2010 signed on February 10, 2010.
The 2012 List of Establishments was based on the complete enumeration of establishments in areas ( covering around 26,669 barangays) not covered in 2011 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE) and field verification of "no
matched" establishments (establishments not listed in the LE) located in 2011 ULE areas from secondary sources, and updates from feedbacks on the surveys undertaken by the office.

(ULE) and field verification of "no matched" establishments (establishments not listed in the LE) located in 2011 ULE areas from secondary sources, and updates from feedbacks on the surveys
undertaken by the office.
The 2009 PSIC was patterned after the United Nation's International Standard Classification (ISIC) Revision 4 (officially released by the UN Statistics Division on August 11, 2008 for adoption by
countries) . To align the existing PSIC (1994) with the ISIC Rev. 4, major changes were adopted and incorporated in the 2009 PSIC but with some modifications to reflect national situation and
requirements. It was approved for adoption by government agencies and instrumentalities through NSCB Resolution No. 2 Series of 2010 signed on February 10, 2010.

Employment Size
The 2012 List of Establishments was based on the complete enumeration of establishments in areas ( covering around 26,669 barangays) not covered in 2011 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE) and field verification
of "no matched" establishments (establishments not listed in the LE) located in 2011 ULE areas from secondary sources, and updates from feedbacks on the surveys undertaken by the office.
The 2009 PSIC was patterned after the United Nation's International Standard Classification (ISIC) Revision 4 (officially released by the UN Statistics Division on August 11, 2008 for adoption by countries) . To align the existing
PSIC (1994) with the ISIC Rev. 4, major changes were adopted and incorporated in the 2009 PSIC but with some modifications to reflect national situation and requirements. It was approved for adoption by government agencies
and instrumentalities through NSCB Resolution No. 2 Series of 2010 signed on February 10, 2010.

2012 List of Establishments (revised 1/15/2014)
The 2012 List of Establishments was based on the complete enumeration of establishments in areas ( covering around 26,669 barangays) not covered in 2011 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE)
and field verification of "no matched" establishments (establishments not listed in the LE) located in 2011 ULE areas from secondary sources, and updates from feedbacks on the surveys undertaken by
the office.
The 2009 PSIC was patterned after the United Nation's International Standard Classification (ISIC) Revision 4 (officially released by the UN Statistics Division on August 11, 2008 for adoption by countries) .
To align the existing PSIC (1994) with the ISIC Rev. 4, major changes were adopted and incorporated in the 2009 PSIC but with some modifications to reflect national situation and requirements. It was
approved for adoption by government agencies and instrumentalities through NSCB Resolution No. 2 Series of 2010 signed on February 10, 2010.

The List of Establishments (LE)
The List of Establishments (LE) of the National Statistics Office (NSO) is a database of all
establishments in the Philippines (whether registered or not in any regulatory body like the SEC, CDA
or DTI).
The statistical unit of the LE is the establishment. An establishment is defined as an economic unit,
which engages, under a single ownership or control, i.e. under a single legal entity; in one or
predominantly one kind of economic activity at a single fixed physical location. The operational
definition of establishment is the unit that is engaged in the production of the most homogeneous
group of goods and services, usually at one location, but sometimes over a wider area, for which
separate records are available that can provide data concerning the production of these goods and
services and the materials, labor and physical resources used in the production.
Scope and Coverage
LE covers economic activities under the 18 industry major divisions as defined in the amended 2009
Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) namely:

Retail sale via stalls and markets
Jeepney and AUV (FX) operation
Tricycle, calesas, pedicabs operation

Public medical, dental and other health services
Doctors offices or clinics in hospitals
Medical clinics shared by at least two doctors
Central banking (BSP)
Branches and ancillary units of the following:
