Graphs and charts Audience questionnaire results

These are my results which I have produced after getting my target audience
to fill in the questionnaire in which I created to help me gather information
about them which will help me produce the front cover, contents page of
my magazine and double page spread.
SEX:

60% of my audience that I asked where female therefore the remaining 40%
of people I asked where male. This will help me when thinking about design
and content for my magazine.
AGE:

My audience age group is mainly 16-21 year olds.

60% of my audience that I asked had a job (either full time or part time) the
other 40% of the people that I asked where students without jobs. This helps
me decided upon the useful piece of text to include on the front cover and
contents page which will grab my audiences attention.

From this information I can tell that the majority of people dont buy
magazines very often. 40% people that I asked by magazines monthly rather
than weekly. 30% of audiences buy magazines once a week and 20% people
buy magazines twice a week therefore only 10% of people buy magazines on
a day-to-day basis.

I found out that the majority of audiences are willing to pay around the price
of 4-4.99. This will help me when figuring out how much I should feature the
price of my magazine, as I will price it less than what is expected for a music
magazine so that audiences see this as a good value for money.

MUSIC GENRE:

Asking students what their favourite types of music is will help me when it
comes to talking about both music and celebrities. Knowing what type of
music is preferred by city college students is key as by producing
information on the most popular categories will tie in a wider variety
audiences and interest them. For other collage audiences hopefully there
will be something else of which will interest them, the pick and mix
theory.

The 60% of audiences that I asked said that they mainly read magazines
for information therefore to gain knowledge on the topics that they like to
read about. 15% of people said that they read magazines in their spare
time and when they are bored, this falls under escapism/ diversion which
means for entertainment and to get away from real life situations. As little
as 10% of audiences said that they read magazines for surveillance which
was expected as things such as TV shows are for surveillance purposes.

singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Jessi J, Beyonc and Jake Bugg.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE BAND?

Again with this question many people said many different things as every has
a different taste. The ones above are the names of bands that came up
frequently, others included bands such as green day, F.U.N, and rolling
stones.

The Most popular used technology used by my audience are Mobil phones,
as most peoples mobiles are smart phones therefore can be used for all types
of different purposes. Laptops appeared to be the second most popular form
of technology as 15% of people said that they use the laptops more than
they use their phone which I thought was surprising as phones are carried
around by most people every day.

POPULAR SOCIAL MEDIA:

Despite Facebook being a global conglomerate only 20% of people voted
Facebook as the majority of audiences said that twitter is their most favourite
form of social media with 45% of votes followed by Instagram with 25%. I will
be therefore focus on getting information across my music magazine through
twitter and Instagram as therefore it will be viewed more often.

As I will be creating a music magazine I thought that it would be a good idea
to find out the other interests of my audience besides music, as this will give
me ideas other ideas on what type of language to include as well as other
possible images on the contents page. Other popular hobbies that came up
in my questionnaire results (other than music) included sport, shopping,
cinema, reading, video gaming and socializing with friends.


SHOPS:

With this question it was more about finding out more about my audiences
identity rather than the type of music they like and why. For my P photo-shoot
what I will be planning it might be a good idea to have my music model
wearing clothes of a particular brand to represent them as being part of a
particular social group.

As well as this linking to my audiences personality, this question will help me
decide upon things such as location. Although as this is a music magazine
the results to this question doesnt matter as supposed to if I was going to

COLOUR:

Knowing my audiences favourite/ most likable colours will help me with the
design of my magazine and the design of my own brand and house style. For
this question the colours, Purple and Red turned out to be the most popular.

understand what people think a music magazine must include and what
