3. Roll center blanket in direction of water flow on bottom of channel.

double row of staggered staples 4" apart to secure blankets.
5. For vegetated channels where side slopes are 4:1 or flatter and the 4'
blanket does extend to the top channel section, the edge of the blanket
does NOT require being trenched-in. The edge of the blanket shall be 8'
stapled every 12". Otherwise, full-length edge of blankets at top of side 3'

the trench after stapling.
6. Blankets on side slopes must be overlapped 4" over the center blanket
and stapled.
7. In high flow channel applications, a staple check slot is recommended
at 30 to 40 foot intervals. Use a row of staples 4" below the first row
in a staggered pattern.
8. The terminal end of the blankets must be anchored in a 6" deep be 6"
wide trench. Backfill and compact the trench after stapling.

The detailed cost estimate for this project is based on average cost for similar work completed in the locality of
the project. It may not reflect the actual cost for the work as determined by the contractor you select. It is your
option to obtain two or more estimates or bids from different contractors before you begin your project. The cost
share dollars assigned for your project may have been based on a less detailed estimate in the planning stage.
Some conservation cost share programs have limitations for cost share, practice, or practice components. It is
highly recommended that you visit with the appropriate cost share program administrator to review cost share
policy prior to starting your project. This will provide you with a greater understanding of what you can expect to
receive in cost share assistance and what your financial responsibilty will be upon the completion of this project.
