Transportation Services Manager, CTL (Cargill Transportation Logistics), NA 2008 2014
Led Customer Service, Carrier Freight Claims, Routing and Rendering Truck & Rail operations.
Managed staff of 7 professionals and 25 associates responsible for the execution of Supply Chain
strategies in the US, Mexico and Canada. Reported to Global Operations Lead in Minneapolis.
Formulated and recommended policies and procedures for approval by Business Unit Leaders in
the areas of claims processing, seal policies and warm temperature issues posing high risk of
loss.
Reduced Customer Service staff headcount by 8 employees without interrupting business or
negatively impacting customers. Achieved over $400K savings in administrative costs.
Implemented Plant Profile Audit Process and Risk Analysis to identify gaps in tools, people and
processes to create a high risk of product loss. Achieved over $1M savings through collaboration
with plant managers to reduce product losses with shortages / overages.
Increased claims revenues by $1.7M through restructuring team and internal processes resulting
in the elimination of inefficiencies to permit growth by centralizing claims management in Wichita.
Developed and presented claims functions. New Business Integration Plan that provided a
scenario of centralization without adding resources along with potential reduction in force

collaboration with sales, plant shipping and Transportation teams. Realized savings of over $1M
in route optimization and efficiencies.

Developed and implemented a "Target Customer Program" to improve customer, shipper and
carrier relationships through better communications and on-time deliveries. Program achieved an
average of 99% on-time deliveries and average increase in sales of 5%>.
Successfully negotiated cost savings of $600K/annually with carriers and improved capacity /
service for plant reducing downtime from lack of trailers by 10%.

Managed all aspects of Transportation functions for Pork and Beef plants, including truck tendering,
customer service, claims, routing logistics, problem resolution, and plant communications. Managed
a staff of 2 professionals and 1 associate professional. Reported to Operations Manager.
Created and implemented new carrier on-time measurements and reporting processes to
analyze carrier performance and communicate with sales teams on opportunities for
improvement. Surveys with sales, customers and plant shipping showed a satisfaction rating of
94%, an increase of 20% over previous year.
