Hydrapave
system allows rain water to inltrate through small channels formed on the ends and sides of the concrete pavers, passing into a prepared
sub-base. The water is then detained, lter treated and dispersed, discharged or directed for re-use.
Additional Options
The Hydrapave
paving system is
engineered for pedestrian and lightly
trafcked areas such as malls, car park
areas and driveways.
Standard kerbing
Header course
Light dressing of 3mm dia.
clean crushed aggregate during
compaction
Bedding course
of 5mm dia. clean

Sub-base of crushed aggregate
Impermeable membrane or
geotextile to suit conditions
Collection drain wrapped in geotextile
PVC outlet pipe

Permeable Paving System
4
1 Hydrapave
Concrete paver with a unique edge chamfer and bevel which permits butt joining. Joints should be
dressed with 3mm dia. uniform clean. Clean aggregate should be applied during compaction. Sand
must not be used as it slows water ingres.
2 Bedding Course
50mm compacted thickness of 5mm single size crushed aggregate. Sand should not be used.
3 Filter Fabric (Optional)
Permeable geotextile, standard or heavy grade depending on pavement design, used to control
migration of hydrocarbons and ows into drainage layer.
4 Sub-base
Typically 350mm thickness of single size 40mm crushed aggregate, gap graded,
and yielding 30-40% voids. Thickness may be varied depending on pavement design.
5 Perimeter Membrane
Either impermeable plastic membrane for tanked systems, or permeable Geotextile for
inltration systems.
