To Develop a Research Proposal for an approved research problem

Write a research proposal for a specific problem of research as per the guidelines given below

Objectives
By the end of this assignment, students will be able to:
Prepare their own research proposal

Guidelines
Your proposal should contain:
a. Topic/ Title (Use of Epiphany in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man)
o Should consist of clear and concise statement
b. Abstract (200 words)
o Clearly explain the following key points
- Study Purpose
- Relationship among selected concepts/variables
- Significance of the study
- Data collection and analysis method
- Limitation and future research study
c. 4 to 5 keywords
o Should place separately at the end of abstract
d. Introduction and background (1000 words)
o Contextual review including the contribution of selected sector
o Problem formulation
- Relevant social/business context
- Main research question and hypothesis
- Brief summary of theoretical/conceptual bases of the project
- Target population of interest
o Deficiency in previous studies
o Need for/value of the research
e. Purpose statement (200 words)
o Intent of the study
o Definition of key variables
f. Objectives
o It should include main and sub objectives
g. Significance of the study (250 words)
o At least 2 ways in which the study adds to scholarly research and literature in the field
o At least 2 ways in which the study helps improve practice and policy makers
h. Research question and hypothesis
i. Literature review (2000 words)
o Clearly explain the context of existing literature
o Discussion on gaps and contradictions in existing literature leading to new research
question
o Methodology used in existing literature and key issues with them
o Discussion on relevant theories (if any)

o Research paradigm
o Population and sampling
o Data collection methods
o Validity and reliability
o Data analysis techniques
k. Limitations and delimitations
o Specify the scope of work

Presentation
The aim of the presentation is to allow students to gain constructive feedback on their research proposal as
well as allowing them to demonstrate their presentation skills. The structure of the presentation will largely
mirror the structure of the proposal.
