History/Background

Team handball was invented in Europe around the 1890s. In parts of Europe, it was
played with 7 players per team on and indoor field. In other parts, it was played outdoors
with 11 players per team. ost des!ribe the sport as a !ross between bas"etball,
ho!"ey, so!!er, and water polo.

its #lympi! debut at the 197$ #lympi!s in uni!h. %omens team handball was later

Team 2andball is played on a 30 4 $0 meter !ourt. - 50meter wide 6oal is lo!ated at
ea!h end of the !ourt.
- 6ame lasts one hour 7two 50 minute halves8. The ob*e!t of the 6ame is to 6et the ball
into the 6oal. ,e!ause a player !annot hold the ball for more than 5
se!onds nor ta"e more than three steps while holdin6 the ball, passin6 advan!es the

Back line
