While at the railways I took twelve months leave without pay. I worked my way around Australia
.First stop was Mount isa where I worked as a labourer after six weeks I was a Baghouse bin
operater , where I did several double shifts and one triple shift .after three months,it was time to
move on, as I wanted to see the rest of Australia .I got a job in Darwin as a Mister Minit Man ,and
learnt how to cut keys and do shoe repairs, engraving jewelry and soon learnt to sell myself ,as sales
is what this was about, After eight months it was time to come back home to Melbourne, the
weather was very uncomfortable as it was the end of the wet season.
