IMPLANTOLOGY
Material
All AB Dental implants are made of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI grade 5,
in accordance with ASTM-F136-02 standard specication.
Titanium is a proven ideal implant material, mainly due to its ability to integrate
almost completely with the bone. In addition to being bio-friendly, it provides
favorable mechanical qualities (strength, endurance) and can be precisely
fabricated (precision measured in microns) to ensure a range of implants that meet
the requirements for optimizing stability in the widest range of patients (considering
the dimensions and state of health of an individuals bone and gums).
Biological surface
AB Dental implants undergo a special treatment of Biological blasting with calcium
phosphate for surface roughening, to enhance the direct attachment of the bone to
the implant (Osseointegration), as supported by the following quote from an article
that compared different surface treatments:
As the implant surface is the rst part of the device to contact the hosts biological
uids, it is expected that its properties will affect the early healing between host
and implant (Albrektsson & Wennenberg, 2004).
Over the years, implant surfaces have evolved from smooth as-turned surfaces
towards textured surfaces. Surface texturization may be achieved through a series
of methods such as acid-etching, grit-blasting, anodizing, and others (Albrektsson
& Wennenberg; Coelho et al., 2009). However, concerns regarding the nal surface

biocompatibility have been expressed (Lemons, 2004).
The new biological surface, offered by AB Dental, combines all the technological
innovations within one surface resulting in biological advantages.
The wide particle range bioactive ceramic media blasting with mild gradative
multi-step cleaning assures a moderately rough surface (Figures 1 and 2) along
with a highly biocompatible surface chemistry where only Osseo conductive and
biocompatible elements can be detected (Figure 3).

Switch Platform
All AB Dental implants and abutments support the switch platform system (Except
N abutments, which form a continuous line with the implant).
Platform switching has been shown to have the potential to reduce the vertical bone
resorption and can be considered a means of preventing initial peri-implant bone
loss.
Whenever the abutment is different in diameter than the implant xture, a certain
amount of the implant platform is exposed. This exposed area of the platform can
allow for the tissues of the biologic width - junctional epithelium and soft connective
tissue - to begin forming there, requiring less bone to be resorbed to make room for
attachment on the lateral surface of the implant xture.

Double platform Implants - The complete t!
AB Dental has a patented solution for a bridge screwed onto non-parallel
implants. The Research and Development team at AB Dental developed implants
with a at connection platform to facilitate the path of insertion for screw retained
restoration.
The implants are designed to accommodate two restorative platforms:
Deep connection (Internal Hexagon 1.8 mm), suitable for all abutments with
antirotational hexagon.
Flat connection (0.2 mm), designed for non-engaging abutments (No hexagon).
P12 - Abutment with at platform for screw retained restoration
The abutment is used for screw retained restorations and enables restoration on
non-parallel implants by cancelling the hex and thereby cancelling the obstruction
of the insertion path. The P12 system provides a comprehensive solution for
temporary and permanent restoration while retaining maximum precision.
If the implants used do not have a double platform, a special adaptor is available,
enabling the use of a at connection abutment. This adapter provides a second
function as an extension piece.

P14 - Angular adaptor for screw retained restorations
The adaptor (base & cone) is used for screw retained rehabilitation and enables
rehabilitation on non-parallel implants by correcting extreme angles of the implant.
The angle of the implant is corrected by using a base. The base is available in
angles of 17 and 30 and at heights of 1 and 3 mm. The cone enables connection of a
temporary titanium abutment or a permanent abutment made with plastic sleeves
for casting.
P4 - Angular abutment
An angular abutment of 15, 25, 35 and 45, designed for tilted implants
Developed by AB Dental R&D Department in collaboration with Dr. Yehuda Gil.
P5-20 Angular ball attachment
An abutment that connects a detachable prosthesis to an implant and stabilizes it.
The abutment is available in 1, 2, 3 and 5 mm heights, matching the height of the gums.
The abutment comes with a stainless steel and silicon cap.
Silicon caps are available in three degrees of hardness, 1-3, from the hardest to the
softest.

UNIQUE PRODUCTS
Clip carrier
The Clip Carrier is easily removed following implant insertion.
It clips rather than screws into the implant. The clip carrier is equipped with a
rubber stopper, providing stability when inserted to the ratchet. Both the ratchet
and the contra angle driver t the clip carrier. The positioning of the clip carriers
upper hexagon enables the dentist/surgeon to anticipate the exact location of future
restoration components, since the Clip Carrier operates in conjunction with the
implant hexagon.
P15 - Temporary Abutment
A temporary titanium abutment is available in heights of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 mm on
which a plastic cap is attached through a clicking system. The abutment enables
temporary restoration without requiring the use of cement, thereby preventing
cement from owing to the surgical zone. The shape of the abutment also enables
good healing of the gums, similar to a healing cap. The abutment has no hex,
thereby simplifying assembly of the abutments. The plastic caps are available in
three degrees of hardness.

D3 Clip Transfer
One piece Clip Transfer where no afxing screw is required. This simplied method
of impression taking is used in back teeth where the lack of space does not allow
both the screw and the driver to t in.
I15 Short Implant
AB Dental offers short implants 6mm and even 5mm long, with diameters
of 4.5mm-8mm. Short Implants are:
The answer for reduced alveolar bone height.
An alternative to complicated and invasive treatments
(bone grafting and sinus lifting).
The width compensates for the short length and provides better load distribution.
The special design with deep wings provides good initial stability.
Special surface treatment enables improved osseointegration.

P0 TITANIUM HEALING CAP
HEALING CAP
The healing cap is set on the implant after it has been exposed, and remains in the
jaw until soft tissue (the gums) heals. Its function is to prepare the site for placing the
prosthetic device. Healing caps are available in 3 sizes: normal, narrow and wide.
Selected height is a function of the thickness of the gums.
In order to ensure that the healing cap is removed easily from the implant,
the two-pieces healing cap was developed - It is set upon the implant and then tighten
into place with a screw.
The P0/2 has 2 components (healing cap and screw) and is available in 5 different
heights (2,3,4,5,7mm) and as a wide version as well.
This healing cap can be used for switch platform.

P14 ANGULAR ADAPTOR
The adaptor (base & cone) enables rehabilitation on non-parallel implants by correcting
extreme angles of the implant. The angle of the implant is corrected by using a base.
The cone enables connection of a temporary titanium abutment or permanent abutment
made with plastic sleeves for casting. This adaptor is a perfect solution for All on four
restorations. This abutment can be used for switch platform.
The cone should be tighten applying 30Nm of torque. The healing cap should be tighten
applying 20Nm of torque. This will ensure that at the time of removing the healing cap,
the cone wont be untightened as well.

About the service
A unique, exclusive and patented (pending) service that enables the dentist, at the click of a button
on his computer, to plan a precise implantation procedure from the clinic. A Surgical Guide can be
produced digitally from this 3D plan, that brings the virtual plan to the mouth.
ABGuidedService will prepare a treatment plan according to the dentist instructions, and present
the dentist 2D and 3D images in the ABDenpax web-based technology.
Dentist can view the plan, consult with colleagues or the dental laboratory (as the location of the
restorations can be seen in the virtual plan) and either request changes to be made to the plan or
approve the plan.
After the treatment plan is approved by the dentist, a surgical guide is manufactured digitally,
directly from the planning software.
ABGuidedService is designed specically for users of AB Implants. The process is easy and
enables the dentist to produce surgical guides for even a single implant.
There is no need to install software and to learn how to use it. ABGuided and ABDenpax provide
this service to the dentist, with all the images needed to view the plan.
The ABGuided Drill Kit provides all the tools needed for use with a surgical guide.
The color-coded drills have stoppers which correspond to the planned drill depths,
and no measurements and calculations are needed at the time of surgery.

The dentist orders an ABGuide using the ABDenpax software program .
The dentist requests a provisional treatment plan in AB Denpax, including which teeth are
to be extracted, where implants are to be placed, if the surgery is apless, and if the
restoration will be removable, screw retained or cemented.
ABGuidedService center collects the stone model from the dentist, or the model can be
scanned in a dental laboratory, and the digital le sent to ABGuidedService.
ABGuidedService center prepares a CTGuide based on a virtual tooth set-up, and
sends it to the CT scanning center directly, or to the doctor to check the t in the mouth.
CT scanning center receives the CTGuide and contacts the patient for CT scan.
CT scanning center scans the patient with the CTGuide and scans the CT Guide alone.
CT scanning center uploads the scans as dicom data to ABDenpax.
ABGuidedService center prepares a treatment plan using 3D planning software and
sends the plan as 2D CT and 3D images to the dentist in ABDenpax.
