FOR THE SESSION 2014-2015 (15-BATCH)

Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah is a public sector university recognized by the Higher
Education Commission, Islamabad and accredited with Pakistan Engineering Council.
Applications are invited on the prescribed forms from eligible candidates domiciled in the province of Sindh for admission in
Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah / Constituent Engineering College Larkano to the First
Year of Bachelors degree (four year) full time courses in the following disciplines under Regular and Self-Finance Scheme.
Candidates having domicile of other provinces of Pakistan can apply only against reserved quota under Self-Finance scheme.
BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (BE)
DEGREE COURSES MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY / QUALIFICATIONS

2. DISCIPLINES AT CONSTITUENT ENGINEERING
COLLEGE LARKANO

i. Civil Engineering
ii. Electrical Engineering
iii. Electronic Engineering
iv. Mechanical Engineering

1) Candidates, who have passed Higher Secondary Certificate
(HSC) (Pre-Engineering) with minimum 60% aggregate marks
excluding the marks of Hifz-ul-Quran.
OR
Any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University
(minimum 60% aggregate marks excluding the marks of
Hifz-ul-Quran).
2) Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination as
mentioned above in Annual Examination 2014 or prior upto
Annual examination 2012 are only eligible to apply for
admission.

iii) Candidates, who having passed Diploma of Associate Engineer
in the relevant field Technology (Chemical / Glass & Fibre
Ceramics Technology) from S.B.T.E. and having domicile of
former Sukkur and Larkano Divisions and District Shaheed
Benazirabad (Nawabshah) can also apply against reserved
seats in relevant fields minimum 60% aggregate marks
excluding the marks of Hifz-ul-Quran.
iv) Candidates who have passed Diploma of Associate Engineer in
the relevant field technology from Technical Boards other than
Sindh Province can apply only against reserved seats on
Self finance Scheme.
NOTE: Candidates who have passed SSC-II Annual examination
before 2009 are not eligible for admission.
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (BS)
DEGREE COURSES MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY / QUALIFICATIONS
3. DISCIPLINES AT QUEST, NAWABSHAH
i. Information Technology (IT)
ii. Computer Science (CS)
(This course is offered in the afternoon Session)

iii. Mathematics

i) Candidates, who having passed HSC (Pre-Engineering,
General Science with Mathematics and Pre-Medical)
with minimum 60% aggregate marks excluding the marks of
Hifz-ul-Quran.

ii) Candidates having passed HSC (Pre-Engineering, General
Science with Mathematics) with minimum 60% aggregate
marks excluding the marks of Hifz-ul-Quran.
OR
Any other equivalent qualification recognized by the
University minimum. 60% aggregate marks excluding the
marks of Hifz-ul-Quran.
iii) Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination as
mentioned above in Annual Examination 2014 or prior upto
Annual examination 2012 are only eligible to apply for
admission.
NOTE: Candidates who have passed SSC-II Annual examination
before 2009 are not eligible for admission.
PRE-ADMISSION TEST
All eligible candidates who are desirous of seeking admission to
any of the B.E. / BS Programme at Quaid-e-Awam University /
Constituent Engineering College Larkano will be required to
appear in an MCQ type (written) pre-admission test and obtain
minimum score of + 40 percent marks. Model paper of
such test and other relevant information are incorporated in the
Prospectus.
Pre-admission test will be held on Sunday, 23
rd
November,
2014 at 10:00 a.m. at QUEST Campus, Nawabshah
Distt. Shaheed Benazirabad, Sindh Pakistan.

ADMISSION FORMS
Application forms for admission alongwith Prospectus can be obtained from following designated branches of Habib Bank Limited during
office working hours from 15.09.2014 to 10.10.2014 on payment of Rs.1800/- only [(includes Pre-Admission Test Fee).

Application form alongwith Prospectus can also be obtained through post / courier from the Admission office after a written request
is made accompanied by Bank Draft of Rs.1800- (including courier charges) in favour of Director Finance, QUEST, Nawabshah
alongwith a self addressed large envelope (size 11 x 15). OR may be downloaded from University website (www.quest.edu.pk)
and same be submitted alongwith Bank draft of Rs.1800/- (including Courier charges) in favour of Director Finance, QUEST,
Nawabshah. Downloaded form should be sent directly to the University by the applicant.
Application form duly completed in all respects and accompanied by attested Photostat copies of the required documents must
be submitted with the same branch of Habib Bank of Limited from which application form was purchased upto 15.09.2014 to
10.10.2014. OR be sent by mail (if form was down loaded from website) under registered cover or through courier to reach the
Admission office latest by 13.10.2014.
SELF FINANCE SCHEME
Under this scheme the disciplines have been distributed in categories as below. The number of seats for each discipline is reserved
on district basis:
Category-I
Admission fee for First year Engineering B.E Course (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering disciplines) under this
category is Rs.830,000/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Thirty Thousand only) including Government Tax in favour of Director
Finance, QUEST, Nawabshah be submitted in shape of Bank Demand Draft with the application form.
Category-II
Admission fee for First year Engineering B.E Course (Electronic, Computer Systems, Energy & Environment,
Telecommunication & Chemical Engineering) under this category is Rs.515,000/- (Rupees Five Hundred Fifteen Thousand
only) including Government Tax in favour of Director Finance, QUEST, Nawabshah be submitted in the shape of Bank Demand
Draft with the application form.
However, in case of admission in BS (Information Technology & Computer Science) courses under self-finance scheme, the
admission fee of Rs.200,000/-(Rupees Two Hundred Thousand only) and for BS(Mathematics & Statistics) programme the
admission fee of Rs.100000/- (Rupees One Hundred Thousand only)/- may be submitted in the shape of Bank Demand Draft
alongwith application form. No application form under Self Finance Scheme will be considered without original Bank Demand
Draft of the required Self Finance Fee (Installments are not allowed).
Eligible candidates from abroad can apply for admission on Self Finance basis against the payment of US$ 10000/= (US dollar Ten
Thousand only) in favour of Director Finance of this University subject to the clearance from Government of Pakistan.

ADMIT CARDS/SLIPS FOR THE PRE-ADMISSION TEST
Admit cards/ slips for the Pre-admission test will be sent through courier upto 05.11.2014. If any candidate do not receive his/her admit
card by 15.11.2014, he/she must contact with the Admission Office. The duplicate slips will be issued from 20.11.2014 to 23.11.2014
on payment of Rs.300/- each. The candidates are required to report for the test latest by 09:00 a.m. on the date and venue of the
pre-admission test.

SCHEDULE
Pre-Admission Test will be conducted on Sunday
23.11.2014.
The test result will be displayed on notice board of the
university and on website on Sunday evening 23.11.2014.
Any claim for recounting of pre-admission test result will be
entertained latest by 26.11.2014 for which a separate fee of
Rs.1000/- will be charged alongwith written application.
Preliminary / Provisional net merit list will be issued on
28.11.2014 (for observation of the candidates).

Any claim of correction in Preliminary / Provisional net
merit list will be entertained upto 02.12.2014
Submission of original documents and Interview will be
conducted on 15.12.2014 to 18.12.2014 as per
schedule at Directorate of Post Graduate Building of
the University.
Classes of 15-Batch will start on 19.01.2015
Prior to the classes, preliminary lectures of Mathematics
for BS(CS) pre-medical students will be conducted for
four weeks. Separate schedule will be announced by the
coordinator BS(CS).
