The voice of God.

There are many people who are looking to hear it and to hear
their prayers answered. Elijah along with Philip, Samuel, and Peter all heard the
voice of God. In fact, all of his servants will hear it. If you have not heard it
perhaps you should consider your ways. Are you following a religion instead of
Christ Jesus. Nearly every time that is the answer. The other answer is that your
willfully sinning. If your a new Christian, relax, as he will speak to you as he
already brought, bought, and redeemed you from all things by his spirit and
because of your belief in him. 1 Kings 19:8-18 And he arose, and did eat and
drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto
Horeb the mount of God. And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and,
behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou
here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for
the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and
slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my
life, to take it away. And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the
LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the
mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in
the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the
earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and
after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he
wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the
cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here,
Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because
the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and
slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my
life, to take it away. And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the
wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha
the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. And
it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay:
and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me
seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every
mouth which hath not kissed him. We can all understand that he stayed in a cave
and waited for the Lord to speak. A storm blew, an earthquake shook, and a fire
raged, but Elijah heard no voice. Then a still small voice told him to leave the
cave and go anoint a new king in Syria, a new king in Israel, and a new prophet in
his place. Today, things may be going bad but God is not finished with you. "And
the Lord said unto him, Go." God has a work for all of his servants which will pay
great dividends in due time. Faith and works go together like peanut butter and
jelly. Read James 2:15-26, Hebrews 11:1-40, and John 6:29. God will never ask you
to do something without making a way or means for it to happen. Whosoever God
calls and sends he has qaulified. Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through
Christ which strengtheneth me. Phillipians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your
need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Sometimes
people do not the voice of God nor the leading of the spirit of God. 1 Samuel 3:1-
19 And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the
LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision. And it came to pass at
that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim,
that he could not see; And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD,
where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; That the LORD called
Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for
thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay
down. And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and
said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son;
lie down again. Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the
LORD yet revealed unto him. And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And
he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli
perceived that the LORD had called the child. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go,
lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for
thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the LORD came,
and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered,
Speak; for thy servant heareth. And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a
thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning
his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. For I have told him that I will
judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made
themselves vile, and he restrained them not. And therefore I have sworn unto the
house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice
nor offering for ever. And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of
the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision. Then Eli called
Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I. And he said, What is
the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God
do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things
that he said unto thee. And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him.
And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good. And Samuel grew,
and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. Now
we can learn from two men who had heard the spirit and message of God. Acts 8:26-
39 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the
south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And
he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority
under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and
had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot
read Esaias the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join
thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the
prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How
can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come
up and sit with him. The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led
as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he
not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall
declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And the eunuch
answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of
himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same
scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came
unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me
to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou
mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the
water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up
out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw
him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 10:9-20 Peter went up upon the
housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, and would have
eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, And saw heaven opened,
and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the
four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted
beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so,
Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice
spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou
common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean,
behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house,
and stood before the gate, And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed
Peter, were lodged there. While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto
him, Behold, three men seek thee. Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with
them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. In all of these example we can see
that God used these men to preach the word or his Gospel and complete his will.
They all were obedient to his word. In order to gain the Holy Spirit in the New
Testament we must believe and be baptized that's according to Jesus, and in his
name. Mark 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature. He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be
damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast
out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if
they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the
sick, and they shall recover. See Luke 24:45-47, Acts 2;38,10:36-48,22:16, 1 Peter
3:21, Romans 6:3-5, Galatians 3:27, and Colossians 2:12, 3:17. It is he that
guides, teaches, and speaks to believers to show forth all things, according to
the word/will of God. John 14:16-18,23,26 And I will pray the Father, and he shall
give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit
of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth
him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not
leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a
man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come
unto him, and make our abode with him. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all
things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 16:7-14
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if
I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send
him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of
righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment,
because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto
you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,
he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to
come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto
you. 1 John 1:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God
perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. We know that we are in God because
of his indwelling spirit that abides in us. This is God with us or within us
that's also called Emmanuel. 1 John 2: 20,27 But ye have an unction from the Holy
One, and ye know all things. But the anointing which ye have received of him
abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing
teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath
taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his
commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in
us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 John 5:13-15, 18-20 These things have
I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know
that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing
according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever
we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. We know that
whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth
himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and
the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and
hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in
him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal
life.
