1.0 PURPOSE OF THE METHOD STATEMENT

The purpose of this method statement is to outline the sequences &
methods of works intended to be used for the Cable Tray / Ladder /
Perforated type installation as shown on ref. drawing numbers below.

The Sub-Contractor reserves the right to adapt the methods of execution as
contained in this documents from time to time according to specific site
conditions.

The equipment used for the first phase of the installation is listed below:

No 1 Fork Lift 05 Ton
No 1 Truck with Crane
No 2 Pick-up
No 2 Modular scaffold to 12 mt.
No 2 Mobile platform to 26 mt.

5.0 METHOD STATEMENT FOR CABLE
TRAY/LADDER/PERFORATED TYPE INSTALLATION

5.1 Ensure that proper materials are available and are approved for use, as well as
the approved drawings.
5.2 Verify site access / routing and mark support locations.
5.3 Obtain work permit, if required.
5.4 Install / erect proper scaffoldings and ladders where ever required during
erection / installation of supports and cable trays.
5.5 Fix the support on the natural structures, by drilling appropriate holes.
5.6 Fix the vertical ladder trays channel on the support.
5.7 The cable trays and ladders shall be installed in such a way that, as often as
possible the cables can be laid directly in place rather than being pulled through.
5.8 Clearance shall be maintained / observed during cable ladder or tray installation
as per specified on approved drawing and specifications.
5.9 Cable Trays & Ladders shall be supported adequately and fix bolt and clamps as
per specifications and drawings and applicable standards.
5.10 Sharp edges of trays & ladders shall be reamed to smooth and paint.
5.11 Touch up paint shall be applied to the scratches / damaged surface of cable trays
& Ladders.
5.12 Care to be taken to avoid corrosion and rust formation during installation.
5.13 Connect earth bonding.
5.14 Test earth continuity.
5.15 Ensure that cable trays and ladders are erected correctly, inspected and approved
by Contractor/Engineer prior to cable laying.

5.16 Support Fabrication

The support will be prefabricated on the workshop of approved supplier using appropriate
approved material cutted according to the length show on the drawings and after that, the
bracket will be fixed with the anchor bolt to the channel.

5.17 Scaffolds

To reach the working places on the tunnel we will use the following procedures:
Using of mobile platforms on the straight part of the tunnel.
Utilize the mobile platform to work on the cable tray raising.
Using adequate scaffoldings were required.

6.0 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

6.1 The following tools will be used :

- Electrical Grinder, if required

- Electrical Drill, if required

- Hand Tools

- Equipment listed above

7.0 SAFETY AND RISK ASSESSMENT

The Sub-Contractor will be responsible for all necessary safety measures at all time.
All works related will be executed in accordance with the Contractor/Engineer
Construction Health and Safety Plan.
The work will only proceed when a Permit to work (ptw) has been obtained or when
required. The PTW will be kept on site for consultation during the execution of works.

Special attention will be paid to cordoning off the work areas and provision of
applicable sign boards.

Use of P.P.E.


All the workers shall be provided with safety equipments. Be sure that each worker is
using them in a proper way.
Our staff has the responsibility to check if workers are wearing the proper PPE at site.
If a worker will be found not wearing the provided PPE, the supervisor will stop him
and make sure he gets protected immediately.
The item issued to the worker must be periodically inspected and changed if it is
damaged or they do not respect the specified conditions.
Personal Protection Equipment:

1. Earing protection, Ear Muff or Plugs. (If Required)
2. Helmet, Hard-Hat.
3. Hand Gloves (Leather or Cotton)
4. Dust Mask respiratory protection. (If Required)
5. Glasses splinter proof.
6. Safety Belts / Harness (Where Required)
7. Safety Shoes.
8. Summer / winter Clothing.
9. Equipment and Clothing for body protection.


Items of personal use shall be inspected regularly and maintained in serviceable and sanitary
condition and before being given to another person or returned to storage they must be
cleaned, disinfected, inspected and repaired if damaged. Employees shall wear clothing
suitable for weather and work conditions.
