2010 SUBARU VICTORIAN OPEN

FINAL QUALIFYING ROUND – MONDAY JANUARY 4TH

PLAYER INFORMATION

Final qualifying will be conducted at the following courses: -

QUALIFYING
Please note that due to the final number of players requiring to pre-qualify, it has been determined to stage qualifying at the two above venues.
Accordingly a qualifying round will not be held at Medway Golf Club as originally stated on the 2010 Victorian Open entry form.

Approximately fifteen places will be available to make up the field for the Championship proper. These positions shall be divided on the basis of
field size at each of the two final qualifying venues. Players will be advised on the day at each qualifying venue of the exact number of spots being
played for.

Ties for the last places in the qualifying competitions shall be decided by a hole by hole playoff at the conclusion of play at each course. Alternate
places in case of subsequent scratching from the Championship proper shall be decided by either hole by hole playoff or by lot as the Championship
Committee may determine.

All competitors (including qualifiers) must register at Spring Valley Golf Club between the hours of 9.00am and 6.00pm on either Monday January 4th
or Tuesday January 5th, 2010. Player’s attention is also drawn to the following Championship conditions which are applicable during the qualifying
rounds:-

DRESS REGULATIONS
All players and caddies are required to adhere to the Host Club’s dress regulations with particular reference to the following:-

♦ Clean dress shoes MUST be worn in the club house at all times, athletic jogger type shoes are not permitted.
♦ Advertising or display materials must not appear on clothing except for brand name logos.
♦ Denim clothing of any description is not permitted.
♦ All shirts must have a collar.
♦ Tailored dress shorts are permitted but must be worn with either long or plain short white sport socks. Please note that “cargo” or “board” type
shorts are not acceptable.

Any player not adhering to the Host Club’s dress regulations will be prohibited from playing. Any caddie not adhering to the above dress regulations
will be requested to leave the course.

COURSE REGULATIONS
Sand buckets MUST be taken and used by each player. In addition, players are requested to repair all pitch marks. Play will be from the tee
markers as directed by the starter. Any player not complying to these requirements will be subject to action in accordance with the Association’s
Code of Conduct.

DRIVING CLUBS
Any driver the player carries must have a club head, identified by model and loft that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads
issued by the R&A. Exception: A driver with a club head that was manufactured prior to 1999 is exempt from this condition. (The list may be viewed
via www.randa.org)

PENALTY FOR CARRYING, BUT NOT MAKING STROKE WITH, CLUB OR CLUBS IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Two strokes for each hole at
which a breach occurred; maximum penalty per round – four strokes. In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to
the next hole. Any club or clubs carried in breach of this condition must be declared out of play by the player to their marker or fellow competitor
immediately upon discovery a breach has occurred. If the player fails to do so, they are disqualified. PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH
CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.

CLUB FACE GROOVES


The specimen R&A Rules Limited competition condition regarding club face grooves will be applicable for the Championship rounds of the 2010
Subaru Victorian Open played at Spring Valley Golf Club BUT NOT FOR THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS. This condition states as follows: -

The player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from 1 January 2010.

*PENALTY FOR CARRYING, BUT NOT MAKING STROKE WITH, CLUB OR CLUBS IN BREACH OF CONDITION:
Stroke play – Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round – Four strokes.
Match or stroke play – In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole.
*Any club or clubs carried in breach of this condition must be declared out of play by the player to his marker or a fellow competitor in stroke play
immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred. If the player fails to do so, he is disqualified.
PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.

Note: All players that subsequently qualify for the Championship rounds of the 2010 Subaru Victorian Open are advised that an R&A testing service
will be provided at the event on Tuesday January 5th and Wednesday January 6th at the Scorers Hut adjacent to the 9th green. The specific hours of
operation of this service will be confirmed to players at registration. In the interim, any player with queries regarding their existing clubs, especially
wedges should consult either the club manufacturer or use the R&A Informational club database via the following website link:

BALL
It will be obligatory for all competitors in the Championship Proper and in the qualifying rounds to play with a ball which is named in the current R &
A and/or USGA Approved Lists. (Copies of these will be at the course.) Penalty: Disqualification.

Balls with Identical Markings to be used: Throughout a stipulated round, the balls a player uses must be of the same brand and type as detailed by a
single entry in the current list of Conforming Golf Balls. Penalty: Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per
round: Four strokes.

PACE OF PLAY
Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. Each group must maintain its position on the course with respect to the group preceding them. Any group with a
clear hole in front of them will be considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups who by their pace contribute to
such delay. Warnings may not be issued prior to penalties.

RULES OFFICIALS
Players are requested to note that rules officials will be moving around the course to assist with rules queries and monitor the pace of play.

REGISTRATION
All competitors are required to report to the starter at the designated tee NO LATER THAN 10 MINUTES prior to tee time.

SCORECARDS

All scorecards are to be returned to the scoreboard situated in the Clubhouse bar area at each respective venue.

CODE OF CONDUCT
All players are requested to adhere to the respective PGA or VGA Code of Conduct (as applicable) for the duration of the competition.

SLOW PLAY
Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. Each group must maintain its position on the course with respect to the group preceding them. Any group with a
clear hole in front of them will be considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups who by their pace contribute to
such delay. Warnings may not be issued prior to penalties.

SUSPENSION OF PLAY
In the event of heavy rain, lightning or for any other reason, the Championship Committee will be responsible for deciding whether to suspend play.
The signal for suspending play will be three short siren blasts. The procedure when play is suspended is outlined under Rule 6-8b. When the
course is ready for play, players will be advised to return to their various locations. The signal for the resumption of play will be one long siren blast.
