2.3 INSTALLATION
2.3.1 Recommendations for installation software
This document must be used for installing S900 software from a CDROM into a PC.
It is divided in 6 sections :
1- RTU S900 software
2- SIM900 software
3- WLD900 software
4- GBD900 software
5- Files library for automatism
6- Uninstalling
2.3.2 RTU S900 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
You can load the S900 application software with the WINLOAD program :
- directly from the CD ROM (example D:\RTU\Ap_rtu.hex , if D: is the CDROM drive)
- or from C: drive But in this case you must first
- create a directory like C:\Program Files\CETT\RTU
- copy the AP_RTU.HEX file from the CD ROM into the previously created directory
2.3.3 SIM 900 COMs SIMULATORS INSTALLATION
Suppose that the CD ROM drive is D: if not, change the drive letter.
- Under Windows Explorer, go to the D:\SIMU\SIM900CEI.gb directory (e.g. for the IEC Simulator in English
version) and call the SETUP.EXE command
- follow the on-screen instructions, by fault. Icons are loaded into the directory C:\Program Files\CETT\ SIM900
- when complete, move the SIM900 icon on the desktop.
After installing SIM 900 verify the SIM900 icon (program/advanced parameters). In the AUTOEXEC.BAT area, the
line SET SIMUVIR=D: indicate the number of the virtual disk which will be installed when you run the SIM 900
program.
If your last disk is C: this line is correct.
If your last disk is D: ( e.g you have created a particular partition in your hard disk ), the line must be SET
SIMUVIR=E:
2.3.4 WINLOAD Downloading programs INSTALLATION
Suppose that the CD ROM drive is D: if not, change the drive letter.
- Under Windows Explorer, go to the D:\Winload900 directory
- call the SETUP.EXE command
- follow the on-screen instructions, by fault. Icons are loaded into the directory C:\Program Files\CETT\
Winload900
- when complete, move the Winload900 icon on the desktop.

2.3.5.1 GBD900 for Windows 95 with MS-DOS re-boot
The GBD installation must be done in 5 steps :
- Files installation from CD ROM to the C: disk
- adaptation to the Windows 95 installed
- PC with more than 32 MB RAM
- PC with less than 32 MB RAM
- customization
In case of troubleshooting an unlocked procedure is given.
2.3.5.1.1 GBD900 Installation
Suppose that the CD ROM drive is D: if not, change the drive letter.
- Under Windows Explorer, go to the D:\GBD\GBD900_win.fr directory (or D:\GBD\GBD900_win.gb for English
version)
- call the SETUP.EXE command
- follow the on-screen instructions, by fault. GBD900 icons are loaded into the directory C:\Program
Files\CETT\GBD_S900
- when complete, copy the GBD icon on the desktop.
- if you use Import program, copy the DBGEN icon on the desktop.
- under Windows Explorer, save the starting files :
AUTOEXEC.BAT --> AUTOEXEC.xxx
and CONFIG.SYS --> CONFIG.xxx
This operation allows you to reboot the PC under Windows 95 in case of troubleshooting.

2.3.5.1.2 Adaptation procedure to the installed system
After the files installing you must adapt the system files in accordance to the installed system version, as follow :
First, verify the Windows 95 installed version.
2.3.5.1.2.1 IO.sys file (4.00.950B version only)
If you have the 4.00.950 version, don't modify this file.
If you have the 4.00.950B version, the IO.SYS file must be modified, only if the HIMEM is 2kB or more, so proceed
as follow :
- Open a MS-DOS windows
- Enter the command mem /c /p and verify the HIMEM file size
- If HIMEM is 1 KB, don't modify the IO.SYS file
- If the HIMEM is 2 KB or more, use the DEBUG.EXE program and proceed as follow :
- Save the C:\IO.SYS file in a temporary directory
- In the MS-DOS windows go to the C: directory
- Change the IO.SYS file attributes with the command : attrib -r -s -h io.sys
- Enter the command debug io.sys and
- Enter E 52F6 58 and hit <Enter> to validate
- Save with <W> and then Quit with <Q>
- Return to the original attributes with the command : attrib +r +s +h io.sys
- Reset the PC
- Open a MS-DOS windows
- Enter the command mem /c /p
- verify the HIMEM file size, now it is 1 kB
2.3.5.1.2.2 SETVER.exe file (4.00.950B version only)
You have the 4.00.950B version and the SETVER.EXE file doesn't exist in the C:\WINDOWS directory :
- you need the SETVER.EXE file of the Windows 95 4.00.950B version
- copy this file in the C:\WINDOWS directory
2.3.5.1.2.3 ANSI.sys file
If you have the 4.00.950 version and the ANSI.SYS file doesn't exist under the C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
directory :
- under Windows Explorer, go to the C:\GBD_S900\BATMOVE directory
- enter the command INST_AN.bat and then the command INST_WIN.bat
In the other cases :
- under Windows Explorer, go to the C:\GBD_S900\BATMOVE directory

2.3.5.1.3 PC with more than 32 MB RAM
If your PC has more than 32 MB RAM, you can run the GBD 900.
So, in order to mask the supplementary memory (over the 32 MB) for the ORACLE program, you must create virtual
disk (ramdrive) in the extension RAM.
It is thus necessary to modify the GBD900 and DBGEN icons by carrying out the following procedure :
- Under Windows Explorer, call the command corresponding to the memory size of your PC being in the
directory C:\GBD_S900\BATMOVE :
- if RAM = 48 MB enter the command RAM_48.bat
- if RAM = 64 MB enter the command RAM_64.bat
- if RAM = 80 MB enter the command RAM_80.bat
- if RAM = 96 MB enter the command RAM_96.bat
- if RAM = 112 MB enter the command RAM_112.bat
- if RAM = 128 MB enter the command RAM_128.bat
- if RAM = 256 MB enter the command RAM_256.bat
- if RAM = 512 MB enter the command RAM_512.bat
This order will copy icon GBD modified from your desktop.
In the case of a memory size other than those proposed above, the detail of the modifications to be carried out
here :
Declare in the CONFIG.SYS file of the GBD icon one or several ramdrive after the driver HIMEM.SYS line, with the
command : devicehigh=C:\WINDOWS\RAMDRIVE.SYS 16384 512 256 /e
This command mask 16 MB RAM to the ORACLE program.
In order to modify the CONFIG.SYS file in the GBD900 icon, display the properties windows of these icons GBD :
- select the icon and click the right button of the mouse to display the properties of the icon,
- select the Program tab,
- choose the Advanced parameter button
- in the CONFIG.SYS area add the lines
If the extended memory is greater than 16 MB (over the 32 MB), you can create others ramdrive in the
CONFIG.SYS file.
If the extended memory is lower than 16 Mo the first parameter of the RAMDRIVE.SYS must be adapted.
2.3.5.1.4 PC with less than 32 MB RAM
At the time of the installation, the cache disc was planned for machines having 32 MB or more read-write memory.
If your PC has less read-write memory, you must change the parameters of the mask disc is carrying out the
following procedure after having checked capacity RAM of your PC :
- Under Windows Explorer, call the command corresponding to the memory size of your PC being in the
directory C:\GBD_S900\BATMOVE :
- if RAM = 8 MB enter the command INST008.bat
- if RAM = 12 or 16 MB enter the command INST012.bat
- if RAM = 32 MB or more enter the command INST032.bat
- quit the Windows Explorer
