the soil-cement losses& %ater content changes& and 'ol!me
changes *s%ell and shrin.age+ prod!ced $y repeated %etting
and drying of hardened soil-cement specimens( The specimens
are compacted in a mold& $efore cement hydration& to mai-
m!m density at optim!m %ater content !sing the compaction
proced!re descri$ed in Test Methods D 55/(

m!m amo!nt of cement re:!ired in soil-cement to achie'e a

dependent on the competence of the personnel performing it& and the
