To begin with, I define myself as analytical and rational and equally empathetic and intuitive.

Thus, I feel that a career in Hotel Management would best highlight my innate passion for
working with people combined with my problem solving abilities.

With regards to my qualifications, my A-level equivalents are a combination of exact and
humanistic sciences: Mathematics, Information Technology and Languages, which are, to my
way of thinking, a strong foundation for a further career in Hotel Management. I also possess
excellent abilities in oral and written communication as is shown by the diplomas I obtained in
the County Public Speaking and English Competitions. Furthermore, being an inquisitive person,
interested in human existence, I was selected to participate in a local parade, which is held
annually on the 9
th
of May (Europe Day). This parade is quite special because my county is the
only one to organise it. Its aim is to promote cultural diversity. Each high school from the county
is randomly allocated to represent a country. As a result, I was fortunate to win the opportunity
to visit Holland and Belgium; opportunities like these are not at all common in Romanian
schools. Through this I got firsthand experience of other cultures, while gaining an insight into
their identity. Additionally, I was in the organising committee of the high school ball, where I
was involved in the integration of the new entrants in the collective of our high school. This
event consists of a contest between a number of new entants, where they are to compete in a
certain number of challenges. This activity required clear thinking and analytical skills, as
students came from a variety of backgrounds, which could easily lead to occasional
discrepancies and we were needed to respond consistently and comprehensively.

Outside academia, my hobbies and extracurricular activities are rather eclectic. I love to read, as
one of the primary ways to reflect upon human nature. I also enjoy physical activities: ballet and
horse riding, or skiing and skating in winter. I took ballroom dancing classes, and interestingly
they proved to be an unusual way to get acquainted with other countries' customs, history and
traditions. Another personal development activity I engaged in was through my membership of
the Interact club, a Rotary Internationals service club for young people. The main purpose of
this club is to advance international understanding and goodwill by means of demonstrating
helpfulness and respect for others. We carried out multiple projects which involved working with
children or supporting people in need. These projects were in themselves an invaluable spiritual
reward, and I felt I learnt the importance of human diversity together with the value of individual
responsibility and hard work. Moreover, I gained experience in organising a variety of events
carried on by our club in order to obtain funds to sustain our charitable work.

I believe I am well-suited for a career in Hotel Management and I am keen to develop
professionally in this field of activity. My education, experience and passion would contribute to
my success and would enrich the programme environment overall.
