2 Important safety instructions 2.1 Operation methods for installation Install SO100KTL/SO100K correctly means following all instructions in this manual, including inverter transportation, installation, electric-circuit connection and commissioning. Any operation deviated from this manual shall be regarded as incorrect operation. Samil Power shall not be liable for any damage resulted from incorrect operation. Please also note: * Note safety instructions here of and listed by following parts; * Note product manual of SO100KTL/SO100K; * Related technical data. 2.2 Operating personnel Only electricians trained and authorized by power company could install and commission inverter. Before installation, all installers and service personnel should be trained and familiar with general safety regulations when operating electrical equipment, they also shall be familiar with local demand, regulations, laws and safety requirement. 2.3 Checking and storage Please check the package and equipment upon delivery, also please compare to the delivery documents. If any damage found or delivery documents unclear, please contact Samil Power immediately.
Note! Inverter could only be stored with package, please ensure its dustproof and damp-proof. If stored for a relatively long time, it should be preserved in dry conditions to be waterproof.
2.4 Transportation Transportation methods mentioned in this manual is the only one to be used (see 5.3 Transportation). Please note equipment weight and center of gravity. The center of gravity is marked in the cover.
Warning! Equipment is very heavy. Its center of gravity is not in center of inverter, sometimes upper part is heavier; therefore, suitable lifter and personnel are needed. Sometimes it could be up-right transported according to position label. Place inverter upside down or horizontal-positioned transportation is not allowed. If swinging up or transporting equipment is not correct, it will result in serious injury, death or property loss.
Transporting damage Please thoroughly check equipment upon delivery, also check all received goods with delivery document list. If user find any damage to the packaging which indicates that the inverter may be damaged, inform the responsible transport company immediately to identify the equipment. If not inform immediately, user would lose the right to claim for damage. If needed, user could also contact local service center of Samil Power to ask for support. If equipment is damaged upon transportation, please take below actions: Damage upon transportation: Receiver should take actions to reduce or limit damage range; Keep original site of damage till responsible transport company or transport insurer make decisions to solve. In this case, please be sure local Samil Power employee in charge involves it as judge. Record actual situation to transporting files which should be signed by ship /railway carrier. Send the equipment damage record to transport company and supplier. 8
Ask transport company for written form paper. Report to police if below damage is found: Damage caused by stealing; Damage caused by fire. Notice time of Damage that cannot be identified at once (until opening package) Shipping company: 6 days Railway/air carrier: 7 days For above damage, user must report actual situation and send to shipping company or railway/air carrier. Transportation insurance Transportation insurance means the insurance since ex-factory. Below situation will not be included: After initial transportation, equipment is transported from one place to another. Transportation within company (i.e.: non-public road transportation within company) 2.5 Installation When installation, please note that all information of SO100KTL/SO100K in this manual is designed for indoor installation. With IP21 protection level, inverter should be installed like this way. Before installation, please read below information carefully: Pre-installation Check if inverter and package is damaged. Any questions, please contact local supplier before installation. Installation To ensure safety, please comply with procedures introduced in this manual. Please note that: inverter has two live ends, which are PV panel DC input side and AC output to grid. 9
2.6 Maintenance Only when inverter completely disconnects with PV panel, grid and internal power supply, and ensure they will not be connected again, user could operate SO100KTL/SO100K inverters. Only qualified technicians who are familiar with system operation could operate. Disconnect breaker Disconnect AC grid, switch off PV panel DC input. Be sure inverter not be reconnected. Use multimeter to test if inverter is disconnected and no voltage, as it would still take high voltage with danger even disconnected with grid/main power supply or PV panels. Please wait for at least 5 minutes after disconnection, then continue to operate. Maintenance and modification Only authorized personnel could repair or modify the inverter. To ensure personal safety, please use original accessories supplied by manufacturer. If not original ones, electrical safety, EMC and inverter safety cannot be ensured if complying with CE standard. Function and safety parameter Please do not change inverter parameter without authorization of local power supply company or any indication from Samil Power. If changed in this situation, it may result in damage or accident to personnel or inverter. Besides, it will cause all inverter operation certificate of approval suspended. 2.7 Protection level/EMC/Noise level EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) means electrical equipment could work very well without any fault or error under certain electromagnetic environment, and have no bad, unacceptable effect to environment. Therefore, EMC stands for quality characteristics of electrical equipment. anti- Electromagnetic function: Immunity to internal electrical noise; 10
immunity to external Electromagnetic: Immunity to external system electromagnetic noise; Electromagnetic emission: Electromagnetic emission effect to environment During equipment operation, it will have certain noise and electromagnetic radiation. According to EMC radiation and noise level, inverter could be set or installed under industrial environment. Therefore, all personnel are suggested not to be near to inverter for a long time when its operating. 2.8 Important notice
Warning 1: Static electricity may cause inverter destroyed Electrostatic discharge may cause unrecoverable damage. When operating inverter, user should comply with electrostatic protection standard. Warning 2: Limitation The inverter cannot be directly connected with life auxiliary equipment or armamentarium. Warning 3: Tools Before startup, installer should check all installing tools or other unnecessary goods are taken out to avoid bringing harm to inverter or normal operation. Warning 4: Maintenance Before maintaining, please be sure inverter is disconnected and all electrified components finish electric discharge, then inverter could be maintained.

4 Qualification certificate PCS 1 5 OT terminal PCS 8 6 CD PCS 1 System monitoring software 3.2 Storage After checking inverter, if it cannot be installed and operated at once, please note below points when storing: Keep package original state; Keep dryer inside keep ventilating and damp-proof when storage and no water storage temperature: -2055, storage humidity: 095%; please note and adapt to all harsh environment, such as shock cooling, shock heating, collision, etc. to avoid causing damage to inverter; regular inspection: Generally once a week to check if package is in perfect condition, to avoid vermin bite and snap, if damage found, please change package at once; if storage time is more than half a year, please open package to check and repack it.
Note! Not store without package Please keep product away from direct sunlight Do not keep inverter tilted or overlapped.
Note! After a long time storage, before installation please open inverter cabinet and check if its in good condition. If necessary, please ask professional personnel to test and then install it. 12

4. Installation requirement 4.1 General installation requirement To ensure inverter normal working, please see below installation environment and request: SO100KTL/SO100K protection level is IP21, it needs to be waterproof. indoor installation, keep it away from direct sunlight and rain good ventilation clean and tidy installation environment during operation it will have some noise, please choose the installation site away from place of residence; be sure installing site not shaking, supporting surface needs to meet inverter load bearing request. be sure to leave enough space to maintains and for heat dissipation. be sure surrounding temperature is in -25C ~50C. 4.2 Environment requirement SO100KTL/SO100K inverter needs to be installed in distribution room, where floor, space, cable ditch, wind-hole, ventilating equipment and all protective measures should be strictly designed and meet below requests: Base request 18
SO100KTL/SO100K inverter needs to be installed on flat floor or steel bracket with fireproofing materials. Be sure floor no sinking or tilting, base solid, safe and reliable. Base should have load bearing capacity. Therefore, when choosing installing position, please consider its weight capacity seriously. Space request When installing inverter, be sure to leave enough space between wall or other equipment to meet requirements for min. maintenance channel, escape route and ventilation. Electrical installation check others checklist Power up and commissioning Commissioning include examination before commissioning preparation before power up steps should be took when commissioning running check 7 Commissioning 5 Mechanism Installation Check all the parts of facility completely according to the installation manual. 5.1 Tools and parts need for machine installation Tools and parts need: cranes, forklifts or trucks (be sufficient for loading capacity) spanner screwdriver plier axial compression drier socket head hexagon wrench magger and multimeter 5.2 shipment announcements Inverter adopts whole mode of transportation, the user can lift it from the bottom up by forklift, or through mobile cranes, Caution 1: Inverter as a whole solid, whether when transportation or installation shall not be separated. Modified without Samil Power authorized may cause fault, which is out of warranty. Caution 2: During transportation shall not make inverters tilting moves or sudden stress, such as sudden down or raise. 20
Caution 3: Read carefully and choose appropriate ways of transport and storage locations, Users are suggested to use forklift to move inverter.
Note! Before inverter cabinet moving to a reserved position, DC and AC main power cable should be laying first. Because these cables are fairly thick, the cables operation will be difficult after inverter cabinet installation.
Transportation with package In order to make a better protective state, the transportation should be with packaging, and follow the packaging printing to transport it.
Unpackaging inverters can use forklifts, cranes or trucks. Pay attention to the packing mark weight and ensure the equipment adequate supporting capacity when its moving. Equipment gravity centered in the lower part of the location, transportation should be reasonable arrangement of support or hook-on point. Forklift truck transportation is a standard method of transportation. Pay attention to the gravity mark. Inverter size is quite large that may block pilots vision, assistant personnel is needed. Shifting method (see figure 6) is below. 21
Figure-6 Forklift(with package) During Lifting transportation, it is recommend using both head of buckle flexible belts and make the condole belt balance stress, see figure - 7

If the final installation location is far away from the remove packaging site, put a wood tray in bottom then use forklift to transport it. See figure-8
Figure-8 Forklift transportation (without package) Before using forklift to move inverter, remove the base plate first, and make barycenter in the middle of forklift, then transport it. Laying guide will make inverter push to eventually installation position. See picture-9

Figure-10 cranes moves inverter 5.3 Field installation Dismantle equipment packing Please follow the steps below to disassemble equipment packing. Step 1: Remove the woodiness side and roof board of packing case. Step 2: Remove the shielding materials of inverter. Step 3: Remove the anchor components which make inverter fixed in the transport plate. Remove the base cover plate for front and back. Unscrew the wood tray fixed nut of the bottom. Take down screws. It will separate inverter and wood tray. Inverter must be installed in foundation or foundation board. Therefore, before installation fixed point (wall anchor bolt) must be in proper position, installation procedure as follows. Step 4: Remove the front and back of bottom cover plate of cabinet. Step 5: Use accessories bolt holes through waist of the base to make inverter fixed in channel, or on the ground. 24
6 Electrical connections 6.1 Input/output requirements Warning ! The inverters work in high voltage! Only professional electrician can only work on equipment. All the equipment connect operation, must be in no voltage state. wrong connection may damage inverter. Without accordance with this warning message, it may cause death, serious bodily injury or significant damage Photovoltaic array Photovoltaic array's open-circuit voltage should be no more than 880V, otherwise, it will damage equipment.

6.2 Electrical wiring preparation Users need to open the front door of SO100KTL/SO100K before connection, Specific steps as follows: Step 1: Turn AC/DC switch to the off position. See Figure-11

Attention: All wiring best from external through inverter's connection hole to access terminals.
Warning! Photovoltaic array open-circuit voltage should be no more than 880V! Otherwise it will damage the equipment! Using a multimeter to measure photovoltaic array when connected.
Warning! The positive and negative of voltage for photovoltaic array can not be reversed, using a multimeter to measure it. Disconnect the DC switch to guarantee the dc side wiring uncharged Using multimeter to measure the open-circuit voltage guarantee photovoltaic array open voltage should be no more than 880V 27
Warning! When connect ac power grid, turn off the AC switch which ensure terminal uncharged.

Figure -15 AC output line 6.3 Installation checklist Before puting inverter into operation, it needs to check the installation first. At least two workers is needed to follow up the items listed below to ensure the correctness of installation.

7 Commissioning 7.1 Related requirements Before commissioning A completely check should be took. Whether DC and AC voltage meets the requirement, and the polarity is right. Check the system connection is already in compliance with relevant standards requirements. And the system grounding well, Grounding resistance for the whole system security has decisive significance, so it must be sure that grounding resistance comply with the requirements before commissioning.
Note! Be sure that all the switches are at off position both at ac/dc side, before commissioning.
7.2 Checking PV modules Check each PV string voltage. PV voltage will be changed as PV modules temperature variable. When parallel with other strings, voltage change will harm to the strings when the parallel ones voltage is not the same, so record the voltage is very important. Accurately record all values (voltage, temperature and radiation) will be very useful to maintenance. Ensure correct polarity. Wrong polarity can also lead to module seriously damaged. Use megger to measure the insulation resistance at the input cable of the inverter.
Danger ! Be careful, High voltage on DC input may harm to person!
Inverter check Please check as the following steps before power up the inverter: step1follow 6.3 Installation checklist; step2be sure both DC and AC switch off; step3be sure emergency stop button release Voltage check check the grid voltage -Be sure phase sequence correct; -Be sure each phase of grid voltage is in range, and make the record. -Measure the grid THD (Total harmonic distortion), and make the record. check the DC input voltage 31
DC input should be connect from combiner box or distribution cabinet - Be sure the DC polarity correct. - Measure each PV string voltage and make the record, be sure the string voltage no more than 880V. 7.3 Power up Power up SO100KTL/SO100K for the first time, follow the steps below: Step 1 Turn the AC switch to position ON Step 2 Turn the DC switch to position ON Step 3 It will take 10 second to start work. It will display Initialization on LCD, and turn on the POWER light. Step 4 If DC voltage is below 450V, it will display Waiting on LCD. Or the inverter will go to self test state. Step 5 If self test is OK, the inverter will go to normal state, and turn on the OPERATION light. 7.4 Running check After commission check the below steps: Step 1: check the noise, the heat, the smell and the smoke Step 2: check the voltage, the frequency and the THD Step 3: set and change the parameter though LCD, check if the function is OK That is all for installation and commissioning.
