P.O.: 14103013 Rev.01
Annexure A
MARMOL
ACSR Conductors
Bare conductors shall be of the ACSR (Aluminum Conductor SteelReinforced) type, with a
cross-section of 70/12 mm
2
.The conductors and their testing procedure shall comply with the
latest edition of the recommendations, standards and conditions directly or indirectly applicable,
which include but are not necessarily limited to: DIN-VDE 0210, 0211, DIN 46391, 48201,
48204, 48303, 57103 and IEC61089.
Equipment, material or workmanship meeting other internationally recognized standards that
ensure an equivalent or higher quality than the standard specified will be accepted.
Operating conditions:
Mormal operating temperature: 80C
Maximum temperature (short circuit): 160C
Maximum operating load: 70 N/mm
Average span: 90 m
Every day temperature 25C
Temperature with max wind 10C
Temperature with ice -40C
Packing and delivery
Bare conductors shall be delivered on non-returnable drums. Drums shall contain a
quantity of 1000 meach.
Conductors shall be placed on reels having a drum diameter sufficiently large so that the bending radius
will not unduly modify the physical properties of the conductors.
In order to protect the aerial cables against adverse effects of water and moisture, both ends shall be
coated with hot melted paste and provided with shrunk on end-caps.
Conductors and aerial cables shall be protected during ordinary handling and transportation to
prevent damage.
Proof of quality
The Supplier shall state all technical particulars and basic design characteristics of the conductors
as requested in the data sheets, and shall additionally submit the following:

Reference lists stating deliveries and installation in the past 5 (five) years, including quantity sold
and addresses of customers.
Inspection and testing
Tests shall be carried out to the relevant standards and recommendations, supplemented by the
specific requirements set out in the specification.
In the absence of IEC standards, inspections and tests shall be carried out in such a manner as to be at
least equivalent to the conditions, provisions and definitions set out in one of the standards listed in this
specification.
The Supplier shall provide with his offer a program of factory acceptance tests, which he intends to
carry out.
Type test
Type tests shall be carried out if the Supplier is not in a position to produce type test certificates that are
duly approved by an independent authority of international repute and that cover the exact design (type)
of equipment to be supplied by the Tenderer and manufactured in complete accordance with this
Specification.
Routine tests
These tests will be carried out on the whole batch of conductors and cables and will include:
Visual inspection (conductor examination)
Conductor resistance measurement carried out in DC and corrected to 20C
Continuous measurement of insulation thickness (for aerial cable only)
Checking of outside diameter and eccentricity of finished conductors
Checking of mechanical characteristics of the insulating material (for aerial cable only)
Inspection for conformity with specification.
