Remitting or retaining sins....
Jesus' disciples....
'Whose soeer sins !e remit" the! are remitted unto them# and
$hose soeer sins !e retain" the! are retained....' %hese" too" are
Words o& 'ine $hich $ere &re(uentl! interpreted di&&erentl! than )
had intended them.
Onl! a person $ith an a$a*ened spirit $ho hears '! oice and
cone!s '! e+planation to !ou is a,le to correct this" so that !ou
can li,erate !ourseles &rom error and *no$ the truth....
'! disciples $ere endo$ed $ith the po$er o& $or*ing miracles in
'! name" o& healing" o& reiing the dead and there,! proing to
people the strength o& their undiided ,elie& in 'e.
%heir spiritual state allo$ed &or all supernatural actiit!" &or $hen
'! spirit poured into them it &illed them $ith strength and light"
$ith po$er and $isdom.
-ence the! $ere a,le to spread the truth ,ecause the! *ne$ it
themseles" and ,! the mere oicing o& $ords the! $ere a,le to
achiee things $hich e+ceeded all human a,ilit!.
For the! had ,een '! disciples.... ) had instructed them through
the inner Word $hile ) lied on earth" the! lied in loe and
,elieed in 'e" there&ore the! $ere also a,le to accept '! spirit
$ithin themseles and $or* through it.
%hese e+traordinar! acts $ere signs o& their souls' maturit! $hich"
in turn" $ere intended to proe to people $hat e+traordinar!
a,ilities a person can achiee i& he lies according to '! $ill" that
is" i& he shapes himsel& a&ter '! image.... into loe.... For loe is
strength" conse(uentl!" a person $ho loes is also permeated ,!
strength and light" ,ecause he can ,e permeated ,! the spirit o&
God" -is emanation o& strength.
.nd ) e+empli&ied to people a li&e o& loe.... ) demonstrated to them
ho$ much strength the human ,eing can attain and a&ter '! death
) le&t liing e+amples ,ehind $hich $ere meant to proclaim '!
teaching o& loe again to demonstrate their strength and thus ma*e
it easier &or people to ,eliee in 'e....
/en i& ) $as no longer isi,le" ) '!sel& $as in the midst o& '!
disciples in spirit....
) guided them" since eer!thing that is permeated ,! '! spirit is
su,0ect to '! diine guidance.... ,ecause ) '!sel& $as
su,se(uentl! a,le to ta*e e&&ect through those $ho $ere $or*ing in
'! name. -ence the disciples had the same po$er and the same
right" ,ecause eer!thing the! accomplished $as '! $ill# the! $ere
enlightened ,! '! spirit" $hich is the emanation o& '!sel&.
1onse(uentl!" the! also had the po$er to &orgie sins in '! name"
especiall! i& illness $as the result o& sins and" in order to cure this
illness" the! had to remit the human ,eing's sins as $ell.
-o$eer" i& the! recognised a person's un$orthiness" his un,elie&
and God2opposing $ill" the! $ere 0ust as entitled to leae him in his
sin&ul state" &or they were not governed by human
understanding but by the divine spirit within them, '! spirit"
$hich *no$s eer!thing and thus also a person's un$orthiness and
the &utilit! o& a merci&ul action on him.
%hus ) gae '! disciples the right to grant to people according to
their realisation" ,ecause '! spirit $as actie in them and
guaranteed that '! disciples thought correctl!....
But no$ people assume the same right een though '! spirit is not
e&&ectie in them as !et.... %he! associated the right to &orgie or
retain sins $ith the person itsel& and not $ith the diine spirit in
this person and thus con&erred this right to all &ollo$ers o& the
disciples according to the $ord and not according to the spirit and
there&ore misunderstood the meaning o& '! Word" although the!
$ould also thin* correctl! i& the! realised who is really My
disciple....
3ot those $ho appoint themseles ,ut those $ho I hae appointed
&or their teaching ministr! on earth.... For ) gae '! disciples the
instruction 'Go !e there&ore" and teach all nations....'
But in order to teach" '! spirit must ,e e&&ectie in them so that
the! $ill ,e a,le to distri, ute the pure truth to people and to
spread '! commandment o& loe in the $orld. 4et the truth can
onl! ,e ta*en possession o& through the $or*ing o& the spirit.
%here&ore" it is imperatie that '! disciples must ,e enlightened ,!
the spirit o& God ,e&ore the! can count themseles as '! disciples.
)n that case the! $ill also ,e permeated ,! light and strength and
a,le to accomplish e+traordinar! &eats " the po$er o& the spirit $ill
ena,le them to heal the sick, thus to release people &rom sin and
its conse(uences as soon as the! ,eliee in 'e and '! name....
To these spiritually enlightened people I gave the power of
forgiving sins, since the! also recognise in their spirituall! mature
state $hen a person deseres to hae his sins &orgien" &or then
the! $ill act on '! ,ehal& and it is ) Who reall! &orgies their sins.
But i& people &eel themseles appointed to carr! out the act o&
&orgieness o& sin een though the! hae neer ,een called ,! 'e
'!sel&" $ho are neither enlightened ,! '! spirit nor hear '! Word
$ithin themseles" their calling can right&ull! ,e disputed" since this
is alread! demonstrated ,! the &act that the! are incapa,le o&
recognising their &ello$ human ,eing in order to 0udge $hether to
remit his sins or to let him *eep them.
%he assessment o& this alread! presupposes the $or*ing o& the
spirit $hich" ho$eer" has to ,e denied to most o& those $ho deem
themseles called as serants o& God as long as the! do not
possess the inner Word. Onl! through '! Word are the! called to
$or* &or 'e" &or onl! '! Word gies them *no$ledge" that is" it
cone!s the pure truth to them" and this is a,solutel! necessar! in
order to ,e a,le to $or* &or 'e.
.n!one $ho *no$s the truth can also pass it on and there,! helps
his &ello$ human ,eing to achiee li,eration. .n!one $ho has '!
Word $ill also hae the competence o& 0udgment $hen a person's
$ill is inclined to$ards God. For the human ,eing's spo*en $ord is
o&ten deceptie" the heart need not ,e inoled in $hat is oiced ,!
the mouth.
But a true disciple has the gi&t o& recognising his &ello$ human
,eing and there&ore also *no$s $hich person is serious a,out the
&orgieness o& his sin and does not allo$ himsel& to ,e misled ,!
man! $ords $hich lac* inner coniction.
Therefore, the remission of sin cannot be a general act since
it can only take place if it was preceded by profound
repentance and recognised as such by My disciples. But in
that case the 0udgment o& the latter $ill ,e alid ,e&ore 'e" &or he
onl! acts on '! instructions and his deed is according to '! $ill.
With those Words ) gae '! disciples the understanding that their
actiit! and thin*ing $ill ,e in complete concordance $ith 'e i&
the! $or* &or 'e in '! name" that the! cannot thin* and $ant
an!thing else ,ut $hat is '! $ill i& the diine spirit is $or*ing in
them $hich" ho$eer" characterises them as '! disciples in the &irst
place.
For ) '!sel& appoint '! serants on earth ,ecause ) trul! *no$ $ho
is (uali&ied &or this ministr! and upon $hom ) can endo$ those gi&ts
$hich are re(uired ,! a teaching ministr! on earth.... .nd to them )
$ill also gie the authorit!" &or then the! $ill onl! carr! out '!
$ill....
