Christmas is About Giving, Christmas is About Love

Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love. Yes, Christmas is

about love, so Christmas is about giving. It’s been that way since the
beginning, you see Christmas began with a gift. A gift not wrapped in shiny
paper with a big bow and placed under a tree. No, the first Christmas gift
came wrapped in strips of cloth and was placed in a feeding trough?!

Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love. It’s about getting

gifts we don’t expect, gifts we don’t want or think we need. When the first
gift was given He came to a people who were, in some ways, looking for a gift
wrapped in shiny paper and placed under a tree. What they got was a baby
who slept in a manger where animals eat. But sometimes if we don’t get what
we want, we just might get what we need.

Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love. It began with God

loving and God giving all He had. But the gift He gave came in a way we did
not expect. Who would take a gift from God and wrap it in strips of cloth and
place him in a feeding trough? Could it be that the best things come in the
least likely packages?

Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love. In the past God

spoke through prophets sent by Him, but finally, in the beginning of the end,
He came in the flesh and spoke personally. You see the greatest gift God
could give, He gave, namely Himself. Not because we wanted Him, but
because we needed Him. The best gift came in the least likely package.

Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love. For over 2000 years
nothing has changed. God loved, so God gave, simple as that. And He is still
giving. This Christmas God offers you His gift, Jesus, given in love for you-
not because you want Him, but because you need Him. You see, the greatest
gift came not to be placed under a tree, but hung on a tree, namely a cross.
Why? God made us so He knows what we need. Jesus gave His life so that
we could be forgiven of all our sins and escape the judgment that is to come.
This is what we need-not a shiny present under a tree. He became like us so
that we might become like Him.

Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love. This Christmas know

that God still loves and God is still giving. God has given us what we need in
Jesus. When He was born He was wrapped in strips of cloth-not with shiny
paper. Thirty years later He was hung on a tree-not placed under it. He
died and was wrapped again in strips of cloth and placed in a tomb. But three
days later He was raised to life again Why? So that you too could have new
life. God is love so God gives. This Christmas, and every Christmas, Jesus is
God’s gift to you, you have only to ask for it. The best gift did come in the
least likely package because Christmas is about giving, Christmas is about love.
