First,youneedaversionthatwillworkinremotedesktopenvironments.Thismeansyouneed
versionB928orhigherinstallerscurrentlyavailablefromhttp://plugin.fileopen.com/all.aspx.
OnlythesehaveanecessarybugfixforrunninginremotedesktopenvironmentslikeCitrixand
WindowsTerminalServer.

launchingatuserlogintime.Theplugininstallerattemptstomakethathappenbywritingto

Ifthisregistrywritebytheinstallerissuppressedbysitelocalpoliciesthenyouwillneedto
configureyoursystemstolaunchtheFileOpenBroker[32or64].exeprocessatlogintime.
BecauseCitrixhasitsownwayofconfiguringforthis,theCitrixdrivenlaunchmaybethemore
elegantsolutiongiventheenvironment.WindowsTerminalServerusersmayfindthatadding
thenecessaryvaluetoHKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
whensettingupuseraccountsworksinstead.Buttheinstallerhasnowayofknowingthe
specificrequirementsforallsystems,soitjustdoeswhatitcan.

Again,themeansbywhichFileOpenBroker[32|64].exeislaunchedisnotimportant;onlythe
factthatitisrunning,oneinstanceforeachloggedinuser,isimportant.TheB928pluginsalso
requirethataWindowsservicenamedFileOpenManagertohavebeeninstalled.Yoursite
policiesmustallowthisfortheinstaller.OtherwiseyouwillhavetouseB879+AdobeReader

TheFileOpenpluginstorespermissionrelatedinformationin%APPDATA%\FileOpen.Thiswill
mostlikelybeintheroaminguserprofilethatisnecessaryintheCitrixenvironment.Butifnot,
expecttoseepermissionproblemsasuserslogintodifferentmachinesinacluster.

Thepluginitself(nottheplugininstaller)alsowritestotheregistryat
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FileOpen.Policiesthatpreventthismaybreakcorrectplugin
functionality.
