Field Work Report

I was invited to attend the meet of Brahma rishi seva Samaj at

Jagdhgirigutta in temple of Pursuram Bhagwan to great the Governor of
Goa. Initially I was thinking that its a regular meet for their member. But
after reaching their, I found that a big mass people gathered with full media
attraction. After interviewing the president of seva samaj I understood that
Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha wad invited for visit the Parsuram Temple.
Specifically we can say, its a meet in the sense of political attraction for
gather political power in the state of Hyderabad.
The Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha was on visit of Hyderabad city in view
of some special tour were invited. She and her husband Dr. Ram Kripal
Sinha both are a politician of Indian state of Bihar. Hence many people of
this caste association who belongs to Bihar are knowing him and her
personally. Thats why they wanted to great her as she reached to this
stage from the same place by stepping up each ladder. The theme of this
meet wrote as (Brahma rishi seva samaj Hyderabad Mahamhim Srimati

Mridula Sinha

Rajyapal Goa Hardik Avinandan karta hai)Greeting to

Mridula Sinha as Governor of Goa by Brahmarisi seva samaj Hyderabad.

On the occasion of this meet around 200 people of this caste were register
and near about 250 people from Bihar other than this caste were present.
The event were started at 0730 pm. Though the chief guest were reached
on 0815 pm. Before that the anchor of this event had been giving
introduction about the Guest that she belongs the Muzaffarpur District of
Bihar

and

she

her

education

from

Muzaffarpur

University.

Mridula Sinha was born on 27 November 1942 in the village of Chhapra

Dharampur Yadu in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar state in India. Her father
was Babu Chhabile Singh and her mother was Anupa Devi. She attended

the local school in Chhapra and later studied at Balika Vidyapeeth, a

residential school for girls in Lakhisarai district. She completed her
bachelor's degree and married with Dr. Ram Kripal Sinha, who at that time
a college lecturer based in Muzaffarpur town, Bihar. After marriage, Mridula
continued her studies and took a post-graduate degree in Psychology. She
then took a job as a lecturer in the same college in Muzaffarpur where her
husband worked. Shortly afterwards, her husband received his doctor's
degree. He was interested in serving the poor rather than in making money.
The couple therefore settled at Motihari in the remote and under-developed
East Champaran district of Bihar. Mridula studied for and obtained a
Bachelor of Education degree during this time and became the Principal of
a school in Motihari district. With the encouragement from her husband,
Mridula enhanced her writing skills and experimented with the short story
format. She was interested in cultural matters and village traditions. She
wrote short stories on these topics and on folk tales that she gathered from
the villages where she and her husband worked. Many of these stories
were published in Hindi language magazines and were later compiled into
a two-volume anthology named Bihar ki lok-kathayen ("folk-tales of Bihar").

She also wrote several novels and a biography of Rajmata Vijayaraje

Scindia titled Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi. A film of the same name was later made
based on this book.
Ram Kripal Sinha's commitment to social welfare had taken him into politics
at the district level. Mridula initially helped her husband in reaching out to
the women of the constituency during his campaigns for election to the
district committee. She developed a very strong interest and commitment
for social welfare, although she had no interest in electoral politics and
never contested any election. Her deep insight into village ways of thinking
and lifestyle combined with the influence that her husband was increasingly
wielding in his party meant that she was able to do a lot of good work in the
villages of Motihari district, especially in the fields of education, healthcare,
sanitation and promotion of milk co-operatives. This brought her much
respect and recognition, and Mridula was named Chairperson of Central
Board of Social Welfare. At this time, her husband was a cabinet minister in
the Bihar state government. During the BJP's campaign for 2014 general

elections, she was in-charge of the BJP Mahila Morcha (women's wing). On
August 25, 2014, she was appointed Governor of Goa.
The theme of this meet give indication to us that class and power gives
everything because she belongs to the same community and caste with
same motherlands become a role model for them. Many personality were
there who knows her personally and even speaks about her that she was a
very normal girl after her marriage she was like housewife only but its her
commitment towards poor or margined family that she enter into the
movement for the upliftment of those family and women. The program also
started in the same pattern. First of all a girl sings national anthem and
anchor greet all the respective guest. Therefore they started their cultural
activity with worshiping of Lord Persuram.
In her speech she said that this is a very big initiative by the president of
this seva samaj inside Hyderabad. Very few association have this kind of
Temple other than his motherland. It gives a big identification that temple
belongs to the Lord Persuram which is a symbol of Brahma rishi Seva
Samaj of Hyderabad. She speaks about her culture, as a wife she never

takes name of her husband even now. She always get motivation from her
husband and follow him even today also. Although she is a Governor of a
state but the native culture as well as family morals are still influencing on
her. She told us about the marriage of her children that she wanted to
marry her child in the same caste at her own city Muzaffarpur. After long
search she found a family of this kind and marry her child with them. Here
she said that I can marry my child in any caste and class but its my own
wish that I will marry my child in Bhumihar caste only. This shows us that
though she belong to upper class but she was also ethnic in her thinking.
One thing also I noted that she speaks in her own language for some time
also and give a brief account about her marriage that one old women told
her that keep up cap of our village in the others home. She accept that at
that time she could not understood what she want to say her. After long
time she understood what she wants to say on that day when she departing
from her father home.

After that she spoke about the responsibility given by PM of India to her
and told us that we need to take an oath which is also a message given to
her for swatch Bharat. We took this oath by repeating it along with her.
From whole speech I found that though she belong to a upper caste, class
even though she consider caste not for untouchability or obsession but in
the sense of marriage, culture, and tradition value etc. Even though she
said that any person belongs to Bihar are most welcome in the Governor
house of Goa. Her think that whatever she goat in her life its a gift given by
her Lord Parsuram and great her with her heart. She also
