Group Dynamics: Instructions, Operations and Processing Guidelines

(Note: Processing questions are only examples; facilitator may ask more questions based on the
activity within the given time for each activity)

Activity 1: SWEETS DONT LIE TO ME (3 Truths and a Lie)

Objective: To know, learn and develop relations with one another by gathering information
through personal statements
Running Time: 45 minutes
Instructions: 10 minutes
GD Proper: 15 minutes
Processing: 20 minutes
Materials:
Writing Materials (Pen, Pencils or Crayons)
Small Sheets of Papers
Instructions:
1.

The facilitator distributes answer sheets that has three boxes on it. Participants will
either draw or write (in a word or phrase) 3 things about them (example are but not
limited to: What is your greatest achievement? Who is the most influential person in
your life? What is your greatest dream? ). But they must be reminded that one of
it must be a LIE.

2.

Each participant will go in front to discuss what they have drawn or written. When
someone shares about himself/herself, the rest of the team will guess which the lie is.
They will be given a score sheet for that.

3.

Each of the participants will be asked again to verify the right answer. The rest will
check if they have guessed the correct answer.

Suggested Question:

1. What did you feel after sharing to the group? Were you able to lie effectively?
2. Who among the group is obvious? Who among the group is mysterious?
3. Did you get any revelation from your teammates?
4. Do you have any reflection from the activity?

Activity 2: WHAT DA FACE! (Non-Verbal)

Objective:To promote the importance of communication through different mediums and


feedbacks
Running Time: 45 minutes
Instructions: 10 minutes
GD Proper: 15 minutes
Processing: 20 minutes
Instructions:
1. Members of the team are divided into two groups. Two groups will form a straight line.
2. The facilitator will give a number to the person in front of two lines. The numbers will
be passed on from one person to another using facial symbol. (Facial symbol
corresponds to a place value).

3. The last person will go back to the facilitator to the facilitator to verify if the digits are
correct.
4. There will three sets of digits. Each team is given two minutes to pass to digits to the
last person.

2. Do you have any hardships? If yes, what are those?
3. What are the lessons you have learned? How do you think you can apply it to the
organization?

Activity 3: PASA TIEMPO (Train Lifting)

Objective: To promote the importance of unique roles in a group and preciseness of actions; to
promote trust and coordination to each member of the team as they plan strategically
Running Time: 45 minutes
Instructions: 10 minutes
GD Proper: 15 minutes
Processing: 20 minutes
Instructions:
1.

Members of the team will be divided into two groups. Then, each group will form a
straight line.

2.

Four from each group will remain standing as supporters; the rest of the team will
sit down.

3.

Each team will have to carry and pass over the person in front to transfer him/her
at the end of the line. Repeat this process until the first and the last member reaches
their initial position.

4.

For the supporters: Ensure that the member passed from one arm to another will
not fall in each side incidentally.

1. What did you feel when you are being carried by your teammates? What did you feel
when you were carrying your teammate?
2. Do you have any hardships? If yes, what are those?
3. What are the lessons you have learned? How do you think you can apply it to the
organization?

Activity 4: 2 BECOME 1 (Puzzle)

Objective:
To promote unity in diversity; that despite their differences in their personalities, they managed
to finish every challenge, accomplished roles and proven their unity with their expertise.
Running Time: 45 minutes
Instructions: 10 minutes
GD Proper: 15 minutes
Processing: 20 minutes
Materials:
1.

Big Puzzle Set

Instructions:
1.

As each small group team finishes a particular group dynamics, the facilitator will
give them a puzzle piece as a reward.

2.

After finishing all the group dynamics, the small group will be given time to arrange
the puzzle pieces they have earned.

3.

After arranging small group puzzle, one representative from SG has to meet with
other small group to arrange the Medium Group puzzle.

4.

During the big night, one representative from medium group will meet with other
MG representative to do the Big Puzzle.
