PRECOMMISSIONING CHECKS
Control valves shall be commissioned after thoroughly flushing the lines. Any attempt to close the valve in unflushed lines will lead to damage of the valve seat and lead
to passing.

DESCRIPTION

Check and verify the erection protocals.


Check the MOV direction marked in the valve body is inline with flow.

Check the valve is properly supported as per the piping drawing.

Check the proper gasket is seated exactly in flange wed.

Check only high tensile studs with similar sizes are used for control valve.

Excess torque shall not be applied for tightening the bolts of the fasterner.

Check the gland nuts are not loose.

Check all the fasteners are in place in the flange joint.

Check the OLR fuse value is as per the recommended value of motor full load current

REMARKS

Check the signal in the position transmitter giving 4-20 mA at control panel.

Check the limit switches are functioning.

The valve shall be lubricated at the gland (for asbestoes packed valve) as per O&M manual.

Flush the piping with water keeping the valve in open position. It is necessary to open the pipe flange / drain valve at an
appropriate location to enable free discharge of water. This will remove the pipe scale, chips, welding slag and other

Once the valves are put into hot service all stud nuts shall be tightened once.

The controller shall be tuned to ensure that the control valve regulates the flow instead of effecting on/ off action. On /
off movement of the valve is against the intention of achieving a smooth control action of the process. This may lead to
damage of the equipment.
