About Milaan
Milaan is a youth led organization that is working to educate children, enable youth and empower
communities in rural India. Started by four passionate students from Delhi University, it was
registered in 2007, as a non-profit, with the idea of promoting access to quality education in remote
rural areas.
The name Milaan is a combination of two Hindi words Milan, which means coming together and
Elaan, which is to declare or announce. Together, they signify the coming together of young people
for a declaration of change.
Our logo contains three words, Educating, Empowering and Enabling which are a reflection of our
philosophy. They recognize the fact that providing education in itself is not sufficient to bring
change. It must be education that not only provides knowledge but also develops the abilities, skills
and attitudes of those children so that they become capable of reaching out and taking the

not exist.
Milaan is registered as a national entity, with currently a presence in 4 districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Over the years our initiatives have touched the lives of more than 10,000 children and young people.
