FINISH
CONCRETE ELEMENT
INDUSTRY
The concrete element industry has high quality standards
and requirements for concrete elements as the demand
for visually aesthetic and smooth concrete surface is
continuously growing. Mets Wood plywood meets the
high visual end technical properties required by the
element industry.
Mets Wood offers XL size panels that are especially tailored for the
concrete element industry. The large size panels reduce the number of
visible concrete joints. This gives a better visual appearance for large
size concrete elements.
The Form XL panel has double-sided, durable, smooth and
maintenance-free phenolic overlays.
Choosing XL Formwork panels will give you high-quality concrete
surfaces with less visible joints.

SCAFFOLDING
When it comes to construction site safety,
your workers deserve the best.
Mets Wood plywood can be used in wide variety of scaffolding systems:
from construction sites to industrial working platforms, events and stages. The
advantages are safety and its light weight. Our scaffolding products panels are
manufactured according to high-quality standards in order to achieve the highest
safety regulations.
Mets Wood Deck is birch plywood overlaid with phenol film with a rough
wire mesh pattern. The rough-surfaced Mets Wood Deck is a durable, multipurpose scaffolding and flooring panel.
Mets Wood Top is phenolic film overlaid birch plywood panel with a raised
nub pattern. High visual quality and a wear-resistant surface combine to make
Mets Wood Top extremely durable, multi-purpose scaffolding and flooring
panels. They are especially suitable for more aesthetic platforms such as for fairs
and stages.
Kerto Master Plank is an LVL product designed specifically for use as a
scaffold board. Lightweight and durable, the scaffold board is dimensionally
stable and cost effective. The unique process manufacturing disperses the inherent
defects found in solid-sawn timber.

PRODUCT PROPERTIES
Phenolic film
FormPLUS panel
In addition to Phenolic film, Mets Wood FormPLUS panel surface
has a special treatment which makes the surface moisture repellent.
Hence the FormPLUS panel surface is able to significantly reduce
surface rippling and provides a smooth concrete cast surface from the
first use.

Edge sealing
Panel edges are sealed against moisture absorption with acrylic edge
sealing paint. The standard colour of the edge sealing is dark brown,
but edge sealing colour can also be ordered to match the surface
film colour. Even though edge sealing slows down the absorption of
moisture into the wood, it does not eliminate it completely.
Repairing
Mets Wood plywood panel surfaces can be repaired with several
methods. Phenol film surfaces can be repaired with overlaid wooden
plugs or by using suitable water proof filler.
Size tolerances
Measured in accordance with standard EN 324, the plywood size and
squareness tolerances meet EN 315 requirements.

SUSTAINABILITY
At Mets Wood we engage in responsible operations and
consider the economic, social and environmental impacts
of our actions.
Mets Wood's environmental policy is based on the principles of minimising environmental impacts, continuous
improvement, the efficient use of raw materials and open
communication. Our certified environmental and quality
systems support operational monitoring and the systematic improvement in our production units.
RENEWABLE AND SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL
The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified quality and environmental management systems of Mets Group include a wood origin management
system. The PEFC logo ensures that the raw material is sourced from
sustainably managed forests.
Mets Wood products are manufactured with low energy and emissions,
using the best available technology. Wood raw material is utilised to the
fullest during the manufacture of different products. The by-products
wood chips, sawdust and bark are used as raw material for production
plants or bioenergy production.
RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL
The disposal of Mets Wood plywood products can be carried out by
several methods. It should be noted that the instructions for disposal
may vary in different countries depending on current legislation. Recycling
of plywood by utilising it in other applications is always preferred, but
Mets Wood plywood products can be safely burnt when the combustion
temperature is at least 850C and the correct combustion conditions are
maintained. Mets Wood plywood products contain nothing classified as
hazardous waste.
GLUING
Mets Wood plywood panels are glued with weather- and boil-proof phenolic resin adhesive (WBP, BFU, AW, exterior). The plywood panel gluing meets
the requirements of the following international standards:
EN 314-2/class 3 (Exterior)
DIN 68705 - 3/BFU 100
BS 6566 - 8/WBP
QUALITY CONTROL
In addition to Mets Woods own quality control, the VTT Technical
Research Centre of Finland oversees production operations and the internal
quality control at Mets Wood plywood mills. External plywood quality control is conducted according to standard EN 13986 and its CE-marking rules
in cooperation with VTT.
FORMALDEHYDE EMISSIONS
Determined according to EN 717-1, the formaldehyde emitted by Mets
Wood Plywood products falls far below the Class E1 requirement of
0.100 ppm and most products also fulfill the most stringent requirements in the world ( 0.030 ppm). More information on the formaldehyde
emissions of different products is given in the Product Data Sheets.
