Outsiders Wine Exhibition with Jean-Marc Quarin
The place to sample great but undiscovered and affordable wines

The second edition of the Outsiders Wine Exhibition will take place on 21-22
November in Paris, at the 8 Valois, next to the Louvre. Forty exhibitors from the
Bordeaux region and one special guest from Languedoc will present their
undiscovered gems their quality far exceeding their reputations. During the two
days of the event, acclaimed wine critic Jean-Marc Quarin, as well as winemakers
and the exhibitions partners (Artcurial, Riedel), will hold a number of workshops.

The first exhibition that celebrates taste over labels
The Salon des Outsiders is a window open onto the latest developments in the world of
wine: flavours, new tasting methods, etc. It guides visitors on a meticulously designed
journey that stimulates their interest in the wines and helps them understand them.
According to hedonist and exhibition co-founder Fabrice Lger, the event is an
opportunity to access incredible wines at prices that make them even more delightful.

In November 2013, the first edition of the exhibition attracted more than 600 wine
amateurs and professionals.

Innovations in 2014
This year, participants will discover many innovations:

tasting workshops led by Jean-Marc Quarin, with input from the winemakers and
exhibition partners:
Bordeaux left bank vs. right bank
The nose before the mouth or how to recognise quality in the taste of young
wines
The cork, the final dimension of a wine
The art of tasting old vintages (Ardeaseal & Artcurial)
How the shape of the glass modifies the tastes perception in the mouth
(Riedel)
interactive terminals at the exhibition locate stockists who sell the wines
presented
a gastronomic corner
a late-night session on Friday until 10 p.m.

This second edition establishes the Outsiders Wine Exhibition as the place to discover
up-and-coming wines and to understand what makes them so promising.

Independent wine critic and writer Jean-Marc Quarin created the concept of outsider in
his celebrated Guide Quarin (published by Solar, www.quarin.com), defining it as: great
undiscovered and affordable wines.
