11. What is the result of the study?

Across the studies, participants included those with aphasia and moderate comprehension
abilities, cognitive problems such as reduced memory, physical problems such as various
degrees of hemiparesis and sensory changes. The participants' level of independence in
activities of daily living (ADL) varied from being independent to requiring full-time
assistance.

12. What are the recommendations of the researchers?

Understanding the factors that contribute to QoL from the perspective of those who have
experienced stroke may assist rehabilitation therapists to invest in client-centred practice
and address the rehabilitation goals that are meaningful to the client in the context of their
specific life circumstances.

For the individual with stroke, such partnerships with health professionals may contribute
to a greater sense of personal control in the recovery process, and thereby enhance QoL.

To date the research investigating QoL after stroke has been mainly cross-sectional in
nature and focused on developing standardised instruments to assess QoL.

Further research, using a combination of both qualitative and quantitative approaches,

would be useful in informing our understanding of complex concepts such as QoL,
exploring elements of longitudinal care, the relative contributions of rehabilitation and
community programs and client-centred approaches to stroke rehabilitation, and in
developing QoL measures.

13. Who will benefit from this study?

People who had been stoke and have stoke.

14. Are the intervention/result of this study applicable to the Philippines settings? If yes,
why did you say so?
Yes, because this study aims to gain only a subjective understanding of the construct of
QoL from a perspective person who have experienced a stroke. Since many Filipino
experienced stroke most especially during summer. . To determine by how the stroke
influences social roles and aspects of self -perceived as important to an individual's sense
of identity.

15. Are the intervention/result of this study safe for the stakeholder? If yes, why did you
say so?
Yes, because they only need to answer some questions and after that it will develop
comprehensive understanding of QoL for them after stoke.

16. As an FEU student nurse, how can you help in disseminating the result of this study?
In disseminating the result of the study as an FEU student nurse I can use pamphlet which
contains important details about the study and the result itself. Mass media like viewing it
on televisions of some companies or hospitals located at their lobbies. And I can also ask
help for further research in this study.

17. As an FEU student nurse, how can you apply this study in the clinical/ community/
university set-up?
As an FEU student nurse I can apply this study by including this in my health teaching
since it can make an important contribution in investigating poorly-understood and
complex issues, such as QoL after stroke. Further research study would also help in
applying this study in different certain areas.
