PROCEDIMIENTO ACTUALIZACION SOFTWARE ROUTER HUAWEI AR 18-20

OBJETIVO:
Actualizacin con X-MODEM del VRP software del Router Huawei Quidway AR18-20.

PROCEDIMIENTO:
Tener un instalado y configurado un software emulador de terminal como el Hyperterminal o
el CRT. (Para efectos prcticos los pantallazos se tomaron con el Hypeterminal)
Estar conectado por consola al router, encenderlo y cuando finalice el autodiagnstico y
aparezca Press Ctrl-B to enter Boot Menu ejecutar la secuencia de teclas
indicada

Aparece el siguiente menu:

Para el router Huawei AR 18-20 la opcin por TFTP no aparece, se escoge la opcin 1 y nos
lleva al siguiente menu:
Please choose your download speed:
1: 9600 bps

Seleccionar la opcion 5 (115200 bps), despus de que se ha seleccionado esta velocidad el

sistema la siguiente informacin:
Download speed is 115200 bps. Change the terminal's speed to 115200
bps, and select XMODEM protocol. Press ENTER key when ready.

En este momento se finaliza la conexin por Hyperterminal o por CRT.

Se vuelve a abrir una nueva sesin y se ajusta la velocidad a 115200 bps del Puerto COM
apropiado.

Ya dentro del Hyperterminal se busca el menu Transfer Send File y se escoge el

protocolo X-MODEM luego se selecciona la ruta en donde se encuentre el archivo *.bin a
descargar al router y se le finaliza con la opcin Send

El router muestra la siguiente informacin indicando que la transferencia de archivos se ha

iniciado:
Now Downloading Program File.
Please Start Transfer Program File Use Xmodem Protocal.
If You Want To Exit Press <Ctrl+X>.
Downloading...CCCCCCCCCC

Adicionalmente por el Hyperterminal se puede observar grficamente el estado de la

descarga del archivo en una cuadro de dialogo como este:

Cuando se finaliza la descarga el sistema indica que la descarga ha sido exitosa y aparece
la siguiente informacin:

The file to be written is flash:/system!Please wait for a while!
Creating the file: flash:/system
Write data to flash...
Please wait, it may take a long time!

Se cambia nuevamente la velocidad de conexin del Hyperterminal a los 9600 bps

habituales y se accesa de nuevo, con el comando display version se puede verificar la
informacin del nuevo VRP software:
