Hotel Granvia Kyoto A Commitment to Being a Muslim Friendly Hotel

The Hotel Granvia Kyoto, a luxury hotel located atop the magnificent Kyoto Station Complex, now continues on
its forward journey towards satisfying all Muslim guests. We are pleased to announce that our Japanese
Restaurant Ukihashi has gained the official Local Halal certificate from Malaysia Halal Corporation Co., Ltd.
(MHC) as of April 1, 2014, following in the footsteps of our Caf Restaurant Le Temps, which was awarded the
certificate in 2013. As a Muslim Friendly Hotel, we serve a Halal menu for Muslim guests under the following
strict guidelines, and we proudly assure all Muslim guests that the delicious Halal meals that they enjoy at the
hotel are fully Halal certified.

Halal Menu
The Halal menu is served under the strict oversight of MHC, including all the ingredients and seasoning. All
Beef and Chicken used for the menu is Halal certified.
In addition to the Halal menu, an Alcohol and Pork menu is available for non-Muslim guests at the caf
restaurant.
Seasonings & Spices
No alcohol, pork, or pork-related seasoning products are used in the Halal menu.
The Soy sauce and Vinegar that is commonly used in the menu also does not include any alcohol.
Tableware
All tableware used for the Halal menu is stored separate from the non-Halal tableware.
Utensils
The kitchen knives, cutting board, and pans used exclusively for cooking the Halal-menu cuisine are kept
separate from the utensils used for the non-Halal food in order to avoid contamination.
Buffet Breakfast (Served at Caf Restaurant Le Temps)
All Halal-menu buffet breakfast items are easily identified by the Halal Certification label issued by MHC.
Special Group-Guest Reservations
Please notify us for Group Guest reservations of more than 20 persons at least 3 days in advance at both
restaurants. In addition to the a la carte menu, we are pleased to offer the Buffet Lunch or Dinner for
Group reservations at Caf Restaurant Le Temps.
