The beautiful illustrations in this calendar were done by Michelle Wiebe,
who lives in Airdrie, Alberta, with her husband and three children. The former
childrens pastor is focusing on painting full time, looking for art-based

est peut-tre un clich us, mais nul ne peut nier que notre monde
se rtrcit. Grce la technologie, notre accs aux quatre coins du
monde est presque instantan. Le monde nous semble donc de plus
en plus petit.
Le monde se rtrcit galement pour Wycliffe Canada. mesure que nous
avanons, notre organisation se focalise sur le recrutement de personnel, sur
la prire et sur la mobilisation de fonds pour la traduction de la Bible et les
ministres connexes, dans une liste de plus en plus courte de pays et de rgions.
Nous avons dcid de concentrer nos efforts sur des projets dune douzaine
de rgions en Afrique, en Asie, au Canada et dans le Pacifique. Nous croyons
que cest une stratgie plus efficace et rentable en ce qui concerne notre
contribution la tche mondiale de la traduction de la Bible.
Dans le calendrier de ce numro du magazine Word Alive, nous prsentons
Natasha Schmale
chaque mois des peintures de ces rgions, pour vous rappeler de prier pour le
travail qui se fait dans ces groupes linguistiques. (Si vous dsirez aussi faire un

Michelle Wiebe Les belles illustrations de ce calendrier ont t peintes par Michelle Wiebe,
qui habite Airdie, en Alberta, avec son mari et ses trois enfants. Michelle a
laiss son travail de pasteur auprs des enfants pour se concentrer temps plein
son art, cherchant des occasions de le mettre au service de Dieu. La peinture
est, depuis longtemps, ancre dans sa nature.
Jai toujours t une artiste, dit Michelle. Lart est en fait une des choses que
Dieu ma demand, plusieurs reprises au fil des annes, dutiliser pour sa gloire.
Depuis que jai pris conscience de cela, jai cherch dvelopper non seulement
mes aptitudes techniques, mais aussi [mon apprciation du] riche hritage
symbolique que lglise protestante a progressivement dlaiss au cours
des sicles.
Aillant grandi dans un milieu trs sculier , Michelle sest aperue lge
de 18 ans que Christ lavait poursuivie depuis plus longtemps quelle pouvait
se souvenir. Aprs avoir accept son don [de salut], ma comprhension de sa
Parole et mon amour nont fait que croitre.
Avec une telle apprciation de la Parole de Dieu, Michelle tait heureuse
daccepter de faire des illustrations pour Wycliffe Canada.
Ctait un privilge norme de donner vie ces peuples sur la toile, dit
Michelle. Jai souvent pens aux personnes de ces tableaux, et pri pour elles,
quand je travaillais aux dtails de leurs vtements, ou que jappliquais les
couches de peinture autour delles.
Que cest excitant de participer au grand plan de Dieu, qui est de partager
son Livre avec des peuples des quatre coins du monde!
Que cest excitant Michelle a poursuivi son travail avec un objectif en tte pour ceux qui
de participer au recevront le calendrier.
Jai pris soin de prsenter ces images dans la manire la plus intressante
grand plan de Dieu, et agrable que je pouvais. Je souhaite vraiment que ce calendrier soit une
bndiction pour tous ceux qui le mettront sur leur mur.
