3-5 CARRIAGE STOPPER POSITION

Move the CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY to the position where


it is 1.5 mm from SIDE FRAME L.
Move and fix the stopper of the LM GUIDE at where it
makes contact with CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY.

4-3 Tool Height Adjustment

Put the WHITE DUMMY PEN (ST-006) to the


CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY.

ROLLER. Cover the PAPER SENSOR with paper and
turn on the power.
Push [SETUP] key.

Move the CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY to the positions shown


in the right figure with the [ ], [ ] keys.
Carry out Adjustment 4 at the position where the clearance
between the pen tip and the BED is the lowest.

the pen tip and the BED will be 2.52.7 mm.

4-4 Tool Pressure Adjustment


Driver IC [MTD2005] supplies voltage,
corresponds to the pen pressure, to the solenoid
of the Carriage. Tool Pressure could be set by
adjusting the OFFSET with MIN adjustment
and GAIN with MAX adjustment of the Tool
Pressure Adjustment.

which is located at the right side of the machine, to MAX.

keys. PEN MODE LED lights to indicate MAX.
PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT is ready.

Push the [ORIGIN SET] key.


- Pen will be in DOWN position.

Pull up the CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY with the TENSION


GAUGE (ST-002) and measure the Tool Pressure when pen
tip leaves the BED. Adjust Tool Pressure so that it will be
195205 gf with [ ], [ ] keys. 1 step = 3 gf.
Push [SETUP] key to save setting.

Pull up the CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY with the DIAL


GAUGE (ST-012) and measure the Tool Pressure when pen
tip leaves the BED. Adjust Tool Pressure so that it will be

4-5 CALIBRATION

[CHECKING]

Put the 0.25 mm Standard Ceramic Pen to the CARRIAGE


ASSEMBLY and set A1 size paper to PNC-960 and A3 size
paper to PNC-910.

Turn on the power while pressing [ ], [ ], [TEST] keys.


Push [SETUP] key.

PNC will start drawing a figure when pushing the [TEST]


key. Calibrating amount can be calculated with the formula
shown in PROCEDURE 4 by using this figure.

TEST LED will turn GREEN.
When Calibrating Carriage moving direction, push [ ]
key. TEST LED will turn YELLOW.

Enter the Calibrating Amount with [ ], [ ] keys and


push [SETUP] key to save settings.
1step = 0.03% and calibrating range is -20 step +20 step.
Calibrating Amount is the amount calculated out at 4 in
page 29.

When re-setting, select the calibrating direction with [ ],


[ ] keys and repeat same procedure explained above.
