Finance minister Arun Jaitley said the government will amend the land acquisition law
to make it friendlier for economic development and suggested that the NDA may press
ahead with changes even if the opposition does not lend its support.
A Delhi court fixed the 19th of next month for hearing final arguments in the 2G
spectrum allocation scam case.
The case involves former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and 15 others.
The CBI has alleged that there was a loss of 30,984 crore rupees to the exchequer in
allocation of 122 licences for 2G spectrum which were scrapped by the Supreme Court
on 2nd February in 2012.

In a move aimed at benefitting over a crore pensioners, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
today launched 'Jeevan Pramaan - Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners'.
The proposed digital certification will do away with the requirement of a pensioner
having to submit a physical Life Certificate in November each year, in order to ensure
continuity of pension being credited into his account.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Three Nation Visit (10-day visit) to
Myanmar, Australia and Fiji today.
Modi today met the President of Myanmar, Mr. U Thein Sein, at the Presidential

Palace, shortly after arrival in Nay Pyi Taw (capital city of Burma).
This was the first meeting between the two leaders, and focus was on connectivity,
cultural contacts and commercial ties, during the 45-minute meeting.
56 people were killed and several injured today morning, following a collision between a
bus and a trawler near Theri Bypass in Sindh's Sukkur district of Pakistan.
According to the World Malnutrition Index Report, the Percentage of children who die

The union government today launched a modified scheme for direct transfer of subsidy
benefits to domestic users of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).The scheme, launched
across 54 districts in 11 states including all in Kerala in the first phase, this will be
extended to rest of the country by 1 January 2015.

ship off the Odisha coast.
The surface-to-surface Dhanush,India's indigenously-developed 'Prithvi' missile, was
