How is Love expressed in:

China
In China, it is less common to say 'I love you' as a way of expressing
love for someone else. Instead, more informal phrases such as 'wo xihuan
ni' (which translates into 'I like you') tend to be used. In Chinese the word
'ai' is commonly used to illustrate the concept of love. This can be used as
both a verb, when saying I love you, or as a noun, when talking about
love.
In terms of actions, love is very much a universal concept and can be
demonstrated in China just as it is in any other part of the world. This could
be with kind words, romantic gestures or hugs and kisses. That said, the
Chinese people are not fond of displays of public affection, particularly
those of the older generation.

Love and marriage in the Chinese culture

Although the Chinese nation is not a strictly religious one, most

marriages are prearranged. The parents of the bride and groom agree in
advance that their children will be married. They believe that love is
something that grows after marriage, rather than before it. Most Chinese
people are happy with this custom and unwilling to go against the wishes
of their parents. More modern Chinese families are willing to let their
children marry as they choose, and have relationships before marriage as
in Western society.

Having children in China

Famously, China has a one child policy due to its excessively large
population. Each married couple is allowed to have one child - or more
specifically, one birth, as children born in multiple births are allowed. If a
woman became pregnant after already having a child, she may be forced
to put it up for adoption. This deters most couples from trying for a second
baby.

Spain
In Spain, love is expressed much as it is in Western natures however, the Spanish may demonstrate a dramatic flair in matters of
romance; the men and women of Spain may prefer an overtly romantic
approach that is flirtatious and also passionate. The Spanish have a taste

for drama, as can be witnessed in their love for bullfighting, and their
passionate artists, such as the inimitable Pablo Picasso. The Spanish will
express love with physical affection, flirting, and romantic gestures, such
as giving flowers, or saying romantic sentiments.
Ways To Show Love In Spain
To show love in Spain, learn to play a romantic song on the guitar, in the
signature Spanish style, and serenade your lover with an unforgettable
tune. Spanish guitars are beautifully-crafted, and produce a unique and
beautiful sound. The classical and modern guitarists of Spain create
exceptional rhythms and melodies that often quite wistful, romantic, and
filled with longing. Express your love in Spain by making music that tugs at
the heartstrings.
Another unforgettable way to express love in Spain is through poetry;
learning a little bit of the Spanish language (if you don't know it already) will
go a long way. Key phrases, such as "amor" (which means love), can be
used in your romantic poem. The word amado means sweetheart, so that
will also be a good word to use in a poem. Simple sentiments and images
are fine, as long as the emotion behind them is sincere. Poetry is a
traditional way to woo a lover...this strategy has been used in Spain for
centuries.
Love is universal; however, come cultures frown on open
expressions of romantic emotion. However, Spain is not a repressed place,
and its culture is quite open. To show love in Spain, be tasteful, but do
display your feeling openly, and show you passion for the other person. If
the other person reciprocates, they will likely show their affection quite
openly.

Germany
Single ladies in the Rhineland of Germany expect their suitors to set
up a birch tree decorated with hearts and crepe paper in front of their
house. This tradition started as a village auction to promote marriage
dating back to the 17th century called Mailehenbrauch. Young men join
friends on April 30 to chop down their May trees. Then on May 1st, the
men set up the trees while their ladies in waiting gather in the town square
for a festival

United States
However you want to really.Call somebody pretty, do nice things for them,
if you are in a relationship with them, you can kiss them. You can also get anyone

that you like flowers or some little gift. But most of the time love is expressed by
people on the sidewalks or public places which can be seen by a lot of people.

France
If you mean romantic love then it is expressed very much in the
same way as in the rest of the world, by signs of affection, hugging,
kissing, or holding hands. Writing love messages or letters. Giving
presents or tokens of affection. Sending flowers. Treating the loved ones
with surprises, paying attention to their needs and preferences and
showing them special regard.
If you mean general love then it is the time spent, the sacrifices made, the
help given freely, the tolerance, the consideration, the forgiveness, the
selflessness and the generosity shown to the persons you love.
If what you are asking is how to tell another person that you love them,
then the expressions used are "Je t'aime", "Je t'adore", or "Je vous
aime","Je vous adore".
If it is not romantic love you can say "J'ai beaucoup d'affection pour
toi/vous".

Apple: A symbol of ecstasy, fertility and abundance as well as love, the Apple is a testimony to the adage
"big things (or meanings in this case) come in small packages." At her wedding to Zeus, Gaia supplied
Apples to Hera signifying long love and union. Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, offered Apples to woo
Aphrodite and win her love. Split apart, the Apple conjures an image of vulva, signifying feminine love and
beauty. In China the Apple stands for peace and its blossom for adoration. Also see my page on Apple Tree
symbolism (Celtic).

.
Harp: The Harp is a symbol of love in the form of lyrical art, poetry, and music. The Harp shares mythical
connections to the Celts representing the bridge of love connecting heaven and earth. In Norway and
Iceland, Harpstrings formed a ladder symbolizing the ascent to higher states of love and pathways leading
to paradise. King David played the Harp to the Lord to express his devotion and love.
.
Heart: Likely the most common symbol for love and certainly the most recognizable is the Heart symbol.
Magicians and Alchemists used the Heart symbols for incantations pertaining to matters related to love and
romance. They were also used in rituals with a goal to stengthen relationships. The Heart has long been
recognized across cultures as being a symbol for charity, joy and compassion. Also an emblem of truth, the
"Sacred Heart" of Christ is also the focus of Roman Catholic worship as a symbol of the Lord's love. As a
graphic representation of an inverted triangle, this symbolizes a vessel in which love is poured or
carried. Click here for more on the heart symbol.
.
Maple Leaf: In China and Japan the Maple Leaf is an emblem of lovers. North American settlers used to
place the Maple leaves at the foot of their beds to ward off demons and encourage sexual pleasure as well
as peaceful sleep. Also in the North American region, the stork can be observed weaving Maple branches
in nests - as such, the Maple became a symbol of the love found in welcoming a new child in the home.
Just as the sweet rich sap produces Maple syrup so too does the Maple leaves serve as a love symbols as
they depict the sweetness and wonder of love in every day life.
.
Rose: The perfect love symbol because they represent all things sensual, sacred, pure and romantic. In
ancient Greece and Rome the rose was sacred to Aphrodite (Venus) and was her emblem of beauty - it was
said to grow from the blood of Adonis. In the Western traditions the Rose is a symbol of passion, desire,
voluptuousness, and physical perfection. The Rose is also a common symbol of eternal life and
resurrection. The Rose is also connected to the goddess Hecate, Dionysus and the three Graces. Also see
my page on Rose Symbolism here.

Cupid: Cupid or Eros means desire in Greek. According to Hesiod, Eros was the deity who came from
Chaos ("The Yawning Void") and represented the primal forces of desire. Eros is said to have been born
from the union of Aphrodite and Ares. Known as Amor (meaning love) to the Romans, the Cupid was often
shown blindfolded in art to symbolize love's blindness. Also see my blog post on the Symbolic Meaning of
Angels
