1. Make a note of the Parity group number by selecting the LDEV and CU number.
2. Select GO ---> LUN Expansion VLL ---> V-VOL
3. Right click on Dynamic Provisioning and select "Release V-VOL Groups from pool"
4. Select the Parity Group number and click on set and click on ok.
5. Click on the plus Next to Dynamic Provisioning
6. Click on the plus sign next to the parity group
7. Now select the parity group and check whether any Paths are there.
8. If the Paths are not there then right click on parity group and select "Delete V-Vol group"

O RE: DELETING LUNS
Thanks Crudiser.
I have some more doubt. My pool-1 has exceeded the first threshold. So the main intention to delete the
luns are to decrease the usage in pool-1.Currently the LUN is in pool-1.And if I release the lun from the
pool,is this will decrease the pool-1 usage?

Is this an Unallocated LUN? If its one of the allocated luns which you happen to unallocate then while you
delete the LDEV it will do zero page reclaims.
Thats when the Threshold message will be gone. I would suggest you to add NEW POOL LDEVs as well
while you delete the DP-VOLS.

RE: DELETING LUNS
Hi,
Its not an unallocated LUN.Its allocated to some hosts. Now from the host side,LUN is released.

RE: DELETING LUNS
Just and FYI: if you are mounting any of the LUNS on Solaris hosts make sure its not UFS formatted. Not
all file systems are Thin Provisioning friendly.
For Solaris use ZFS or VXFS filesystem.
