Note:
When the communication between NMS and resource is error, the system cannot get the
administration state of the current resource and the state is Unknown on the interface.
1.2.2 Spy/De-spy
The purpose of spying is to feed back the change information of the resource to the user in
time. De-spying is the reversal operation of spying, that is, stop feeding back the change
information of the resource to the user.
After the spying command is sent, once the information of the spied resource has changed,
the data is reported to the user at once until the user sends the de-spying command.
1.2.3 Prohibit/De-prohibit
The resource is still in enabled state after being prohibited. However, the prohibited
resource can only support some system information but can not support normal user
service demands.
1-2
SJ-20100603155704-020|20110228
The system prescribes that the user can not prohibit all resources at the same time, and
at least one resource is available.
After the user perform the de-prohibit command on the resource, the resource recovers
the available state, that is, the resource can support the user service again.
1.2.4 Reset
For the Iu port, Iub port, and cell, after the user performs the reset operation, the
corresponding resources are all released. Therefore, the current call is released and
the new call can not be accessed. After the resource is reset successfully, the related
resource can be used again and the user can make a new call.
For module, unit, and sub-unit, after the user performs the reset operation, the system
does not change the original state (such as, the blocking state of the board) of the resource.
The system only resets the resource.
Note:
Do not perform dynamic data management on slave RNC configuration set.

Chapter 2
2.1 Overview
On NM interface, users can perform distributed dynamic data management on ZXWR
RNC, including:
l Synchronizing NE clock
l Querying NTP clock
l Querying State
l Spying/Unspying Resource
l Reset Operation
l Manual Saving
l Exporting IOT parameter
l Batch Querying state
l Operations of the Rack
Note:
Users must obtain the mutex right before performing on the NM system software. For the
method to apply mutex right, refer to ZXWR RNC (V3.09.30) Radio Network Controller
Tool Configuration Guide. Please perform the dynamic data management operations on
the master configuration set, otherwise, some steps are invisible on the interfaces.

such as, ROMP and RCB, board M/S switchover and CPU M/S switchover may occur. If
there is only one CPU on the board, CPU M/S switchover equals to board M/S switchover.
For the board containing several CPUs, when performing CPU M/S switchover, the system
requires the users to select the working CPU No. to switch. For RCB board, CPU 1 is equal
to CPU 2. For ROMP board, CPU 1 is ROMP and CPU 2 is RPU.
Prerequisites
1. NMS is running normally.
2. The board to switch has existed.
3. The connection between ZXWR RNC and NMS is normal.
Note:
For the board that only contains one CPU, the M/S switchover is performed between
two boards. For the board that contains two CPUs, the M/S states of the two CPUs are
independent with each other and M/S switchover is performed between CPUs that M/S
board corresponds to.
For example, boards in Slot 1 and Slot 2 are backed up for each other and each board
contains two CPUs. Then CPU 1 of Board 1 and CPU 1 of Board 2 are backed up for each
other, and CPU 2 of Board 1 and CPU 2 of Board 2 are backed up for each other.
Context
Note:
Do not perform M/S switchover frequently. Usually, perform M/S switchover five minutes
after the previous operation.
Steps
1. On Configuration Management tab, choose UTRAN SubNetwork > RNC Managed
Element > RNC Config Set > RNC Ground Resource Management > Rack.
2. On the rack diagram, choose a board, right-click and select CPU > Normal
Master-Slave State Switch, or CPU > Forcible Master-Slave State Switch, as
shown in Figure 2-31 and Figure 2-32.
2-18
SJ-20100603155704-020|20110228
Note:
As for the normal M/S switchover, if the equipment is dealing with other M/S
synchronization during the switchover process, the normal M/S switchover terminates.
As for the forcible M/S switchover, the system terminates the switchover no matter
which state the equipment is in.
3. Confirm Dialog box for performing master/slave switchover pops up, as shown in
Figure 2-33.

M/S switchover. As for the board that contains several CPUs, such as, ROMP and
RCB, Prompt Dialog box for selecting a CPU No.
5. Select CPU No. to perform M/S switchover and click OK.
6. The system automatically performs M/S switchover.
